Sensors Converge 2022 was a three-day conference and expo held June 27–29, 2022, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Organized by Questex, it brought together people working across sensor design and integration, from sensor components and chips to embedded processing, connectivity and cloud applications.
What was Sensors Converge 2022?
It was an in-person event for professionals who design with or integrate sensors, sensor systems and sensor applications. Its scope extended beyond individual sensor components: the event presented sensors alongside electronics and embedded systems, with application areas including IoT, connectivity, autonomous technology and medical technology.
That breadth is reflected in the event’s descriptions of the technology stack. Questex framed it as spanning “from sensors and chips to the cloud,” while imec described the building blocks as “sensors, processing, and connectivity.” Questex’s March 2022 announcement and imec’s event listing provide those descriptions.
When and where was it held?
The conference and expo ran June 27–29, 2022, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Pre-conference symposia were scheduled for June 27. The event’s VIP resources list the conference, expo and symposium timing; imec independently records the same dates and venue in its event listing.

How large was the event, and what did it include?
Questex’s post-event archive reports that Sensors Converge 2022 featured nearly 230 exhibitors and more than 75 conference sessions over three days. Before the event, Questex promoted “200+ Exhibitors”; that was a pre-event figure, not the post-event count. Questex’s press archive contains both figures.
The program combined the expo floor with conference sessions, pre-conference symposia, workshops and networking, alongside co-located technical programs. This format connected product and component displays with practical engineering discussion.

What technologies and engineering questions did the program cover?
The official 2022 symposium listing highlights three focused topics. Together, they offer a useful way to understand the engineering trade-offs represented in the program: how a sensor is powered, how it is physically integrated, and where its data is processed or used.
Energy harvesting and ultra-low-power IoT
One symposium focused on energy harvesting to support ultra-low-power IoT deployments. The engineering question is whether a device can obtain useful energy from its environment and reduce dependence on battery replacement or charging. The listing establishes the topic, but does not specify a particular harvesting method or performance target.

Printed, flexible and textile sensors
A second symposium covered printed, flexible and stretchable sensors, as well as e-fabric and smart sensors for wearables and other high-volume IoT applications. This track centered on form factor and integration: sensing elements that can fit into flexible surfaces, clothing or other products where conventional rigid components may not suit the design.
MEMS sensorization
The third symposium addressed MEMS sensorization, including current products, design and manufacturing. MEMS—microelectromechanical systems—represents a component and production focus, complementing the flexible and textile approaches in the other symposium topics. The official symposium listing names all three areas.

How did the event connect sensors to practical prototyping?
The event was not limited to talks about sensor components. The reader-facing program summary identifies Avnet development-board training and demonstrations as hands-on support for prototyping. A sensor development board is a practical starting point for evaluating a sensor with its processing and connectivity before integrating it into a larger system.
That is a category-level takeaway, not a recommendation for a specific 2022 product: the event materials establish development-board training and demonstrations, but do not establish that a particular exhibitor board remains available or is suitable for a given project. Check present-day availability and compatibility with the sensor, processor, software tools and connectivity your prototype requires.

What did exhibitors demonstrate?
The available event information supports a broad answer rather than a complete product inventory.
