Google released Chrome 154.0.8037.97/.98 for Windows and Mac, and 154.0.8037.97 for Linux, on October 1, 2026. The Stable Channel update includes 11 security fixes, led by a critical WebGL out-of-bounds write. Google is rolling it out over the coming days and weeks, so it may not appear on every device immediately.
Which Chrome versions include the security fixes?
Google announced the desktop Stable Channel release on October 1, 2026. The versions are 154.0.8037.97/.98 for Windows and Mac, and 154.0.8037.97 for Linux. Google says the rollout will take place over the coming days and weeks; availability can therefore vary by device.
To check for the update, open Chrome and go to More (the three-dot menu) > Help > About Google Chrome. Chrome checks for updates on that page. If an update installs, relaunch the browser when prompted to finish applying it. Google’s desktop release announcement lists the versions and rollout timing.
What is the critical WebGL flaw?
Google identifies CVE-2026-103628 as a critical out-of-bounds write in WebGL. In general, an out-of-bounds write means software writes data outside the memory area intended for it. Google’s release entry identifies the affected component and flaw type, but does not describe the technical prerequisites, practical consequences, or a specific attack scenario. It lists Google as the reporter and August 21, 2026, as the report date.

The release note does not say that this vulnerability is being exploited in the wild. It should not be described as an actively exploited zero-day on the basis of this announcement alone. Google also cautions that vulnerability details may remain restricted until most users have received a fix, or while a third-party library remains unpatched in other projects. See Google’s desktop security release entry.
What are the “10 other bugs”?
Google says the desktop update contains 11 security fixes, including the critical WebGL issue. The release entry available for this update exposes seven additional vulnerability rows, not a complete public accounting of the other ten fixes. It is therefore accurate to report the total of 11, but not to claim that the public note identifies or details every fix individually.
