Search marketplaces and specialist server-refurbishing sellers for Intel Xeon E5-2695 v2 processor. Intel’s product information lists boxed and tray variants; the boxed SKU is BX80635E52695V2. Listings may instead identify the processor by the SR1BA marking. Confirm the exact model with the seller, and ask for evidence that the item was tested. These are Intel’s processor specifications, not a guarantee that every board marketed as LGA2011 can run the chip. Intel’s compatible-systems information is a useful starting point, but verify support with the system or motherboard manufacturer for your exact model and BIOS.

Check compatibility before ordering
- Verify CPU generation and BIOS. Confirm that the server or motherboard explicitly supports Ivy Bridge-EP Xeon E5-2600 v2 processors and has the required BIOS revision. Consult the manufacturer’s support list for the exact system.
- Confirm the socket and platform. The processor uses FCLGA2011. Do not treat an “LGA2011” listing as proof of firmware or platform compatibility.
- Check memory rules. Confirm the system supports the required DDR3 ECC memory, maximum capacity, and channel population configuration. The processor’s stated memory capability may exceed what a particular server supports.
- Check cooling and chassis fit. Make sure the cooler is FCLGA2011-compatible and suitable for at least 115 W TDP, and that the chassis provides adequate clearance and airflow.
- Clarify what the listing includes. Ask whether it is a boxed or tray processor, request clear identification of the exact model, and establish the return policy and testing evidence before paying.

Intel lists the E5-2697 v2 and E5-2690 v2 alongside the E5-2695 v2 as compatible-system options. They share the FCLGA2011 family, but they are not automatic drop-in replacements: confirm motherboard and BIOS support, cooling capacity, and workload needs for the specific system.

The E5-2697 v2 keeps 12 cores while offering higher listed clocks, but its 130 W TDP is above the E5-2695 v2’s 115 W. The E5-2690 v2 has two fewer cores, higher listed clocks, and the same 130 W TDP as the E5-2697 v2. Choose based on the application’s preference for core count versus frequency and on what the system can cool. What to inspect in a used listing
- Exact model identification: E5-2695 v2, and where applicable SR1BA or boxed SKU BX80635E52695V2.
- Seller reputation, return policy, and whether the processor is described as tested.
- Clear photos and condition of the processor contacts; ask the seller to clarify any visible damage or uncertainty.
- Whether the processor is tray-only or boxed, and whether any cooler is included. Do not assume a listing includes a cooler.
