Clear Bluetooth memory on many Pioneer touchscreen radios
Use this general route only if your receiver has the matching menu labels. The entry point varies: some models put Bluetooth settings in a top or home menu, while others use a different settings screen. For a model-specific example, Pioneer’s AVH-X8650BT operation manual describes Bluetooth Memory Clear.
- Park safely first. Stop the vehicle and follow any parking-brake requirement in your receiver’s manual. The requirement depends on the model; Pioneer specifies it for the AVH-X8650BT procedure.
- Open the radio’s top or home menu and go to its Bluetooth settings.
- Select Bluetooth Memory Clear, then choose Clear and confirm with OK when prompted.
- Leave the receiver powered on until clearing is complete. Pioneer warns in the AVH-X8650BT manual: “Never turn this product off while the Bluetooth memory is being cleared.”
On some models the Bluetooth Memory Clear option is available only when the source is OFF. Check your receiver’s manual for that condition and its exact menu path; Pioneer’s manuals document different controls and menu locations.
Remove one phone without clearing all Bluetooth memory
If you only want to unpair one phone, look for an individual registered-device deletion option instead of clearing all Bluetooth memory. Some Pioneer receivers provide a Connection menu where you can select and delete a registered device. Consult the manual for the exact route and label; Pioneer documents this option for particular models, not every receiver. See the AVH-X8850BT operation manual for a model-specific example.

Knob-operated receivers use different instructions
Some Pioneer radios use physical controls rather than a touchscreen. In a specific Bluetooth firmware procedure, Pioneer Canada instructs users to hold the center of the volume knob to open settings, choose Clear memory, then confirm Clear memory YES. Those steps apply to that documented procedure; they are not a universal sequence for knob-based Pioneer receivers. What a Bluetooth reset does—and does not do
In Pioneer documentation, clearing Bluetooth memory initializes registered devices and the PIN code. It is a Bluetooth-specific operation, not proof that the receiver’s sound, clock, display, or installation settings will be reset. Do not treat it as a factory reset unless the manual for your model explicitly says so.

If pairing still fails after the model-correct clear, remove the radio’s old pairing from the phone and pair the devices again, following both manuals. The phone steps vary by operating system, so use the phone maker’s instructions rather than assuming one universal procedure.

Check the receiver’s model number on the unit or its documentation, then find the matching Pioneer owner’s manual. Pioneer’s support and manual lookup is model-oriented, and Pioneer notes that its selector may not include every product. If the radio continues to have a Bluetooth fault after you follow its manual, Pioneer USA describes factory repair service for car-electronics products.
