The Analog Devices LT6600-10 combines a fully differential amplifier and a fourth-order, 10 MHz low-pass filter in one IC. Its filter cutoff and passband ripple are internally set; two external resistors program differential gain, and an adjustable output common-mode voltage helps match an ADC’s input requirements.
What the LT6600-10 does
Analog Devices describes the LT6600-10 as a differential amplifier with an integrated fourth-order low-pass filter that approximates a Chebyshev response. The filter has 0.5 dB passband ripple and a 10 MHz cutoff, according to the manufacturer’s 2011 documentation. Rather than building a separate precision filter network, a designer can use the IC to combine amplification, antialias filtering and differential drive.
The cutoff and ripple are set internally. Two external resistors set differential gain, and the output common-mode voltage is adjustable for applications such as driving an ADC with a required input common-mode level. See the Analog Devices LT6600-10 product page and its LT6600-10 datasheet for device details and test conditions.
Is the LT6600-10 an ADC driver?
Yes, it can serve as a differential ADC driver, with the added function of low-pass filtering. The manufacturer lists high-speed ADC antialiasing among its applications. Its adjustable output common-mode level is useful when the ADC specifies a particular common-mode input, but the required signal swing, gain, load and distortion performance still need to be checked against the ADC and the intended operating conditions.

Other published performance figures must be read with their test conditions. The manufacturer reports 82 dB signal-to-noise ratio at a 3 V supply and 2 Vp-p output. Its distortion figures are 88 dBc second harmonic and 97 dBc third harmonic at 1 MHz, and 74 dBc second harmonic and 77 dBc third harmonic at 5 MHz; these distortion values are for the datasheet’s 2 Vp-p output and 800 ohm test condition. Do not treat those numbers as guarantees for a different supply, output amplitude, load, gain, frequency or temperature.

What to compare when choosing an alternative
A replacement should be evaluated as a filter and amplifier together, not just by its nominal cutoff. Compare these characteristics in the conditions relevant to the circuit:
- Filter order and passband ripple.
- Cutoff-frequency accuracy and whether the cutoff is adjustable.
- Differential gain range and output common-mode control.
- Noise, distortion, signal swing and load drive at the operating frequency.
- Supply range, package, lifecycle status and availability.
- Whether the design needs one channel or two matched channels.
LTC6605-10
The LTC6605-10 is a related option with two matched second-order 10 MHz filter channels, differential amplifiers, selectable gain and power modes, and an adjustable −3 dB frequency range of 9.7 MHz to 14 MHz. The manufacturer’s page marks it “LAST TIME BUY” and names the LT6604-10 as a recommended newer alternative. Its dual-channel architecture and adjustable cutoff differ from the LT6600-10’s single integrated fourth-order 10 MHz filter, so it is not automatically a drop-in substitute. Check the Analog Devices LTC6605-10 product page for current status and specifications.
