Amazon lists standard Prime membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year, and says eligible customers may have a 30-day trial. Membership terms can change, so check the current sign-up page before subscribing.

Streaming sticks: match the device to your TV
Fire TV Stick HD: a budget choice for HD sets
The Fire TV Stick HD is the least expensive listed option and is aimed at HD streaming, not 4K. It makes sense if your television is HD or you do not need 4K output. Check that your TV has a compatible HDMI port and that the listing is for the HD model.
Fire TV Stick 4K Select: an entry point for a 4K TV
If you own a 4K television, the 4K Select is the least expensive 4K option in this roundup. TechRadar notes that it lacks some premium features available on pricier models, so compare the feature list against the apps and picture capabilities you actually use.
Fire TV Stick 4K Plus: consider its extra features
The 4K Plus is listed at a higher price than the Select and is described as offering Dolby Vision, Wi-Fi 6 and 2 GB of RAM. Those specifications may matter if your TV and home network support them; a larger discount alone is not a reason to upgrade.
Alexa speakers and displays: audio, bedside use or a screen
Echo Dot: a small speaker for everyday Alexa tasks
The Echo Dot is an audio-first option for music, questions and weather, with a temperature sensor cited in TechRadar’s description. Choose it if you want a compact speaker rather than a display.

Echo Spot: a bedside alarm-clock format
The Echo Spot pairs Alexa with a 2.83-inch touchscreen and a 1.73-inch speaker, according to TechRadar. Its small screen suits a bedside clock-style setup better than a display intended for viewing across a room.
Echo Dot Max: a higher-end speaker
TechRadar describes the Echo Dot Max as supporting lossless high-definition audio and automatic room adaptation. It is the audio-focused higher-end choice in this selection; compare its features with the smaller Dot before spending more.
Echo Show 11: choose a screen when visuals matter
The Echo Show 11 has an 11-inch Full HD display and spatial audio, per TechRadar. A screen can be useful when you want visual information or a display in a shared space; if you only want voice responses and music, an audio-only Echo may be a better fit.
Fire tablets: choose screen size for your workload
Fire HD 8: compact basics
The Fire HD 8 is described as suitable for browsing, email, video and light gaming, with up to 13 hours of battery life stated by TechRadar. Consider it for portable everyday use rather than demanding workloads.
