Its aluminum-alloy body, passive Canon EF mount, manual exposure controls and optical viewfinder make it a hands-on alternative to fixed-lens, mostly automatic instant cameras. It is not an autofocus camera: you focus by hand, set the lens aperture yourself and use the built-in meter as a guide.
What the NONS SL645 is—and who it suits
NONS describes the SL645 as an interchangeable-lens SLR instant camera for Fujifilm instax Mini film. It combines a roof-pentaprism SLR viewfinder and manual focus with an integrated light meter and interchangeable lenses. The body is aluminum alloy, weighs 795 g and measures 135 × 124 × 92 mm.
This is a camera for photographers who want to choose lenses and exposure settings rather than simply point and shoot. The manual controls offer flexibility, but they also mean more decisions before each exposure and a heavier, more involved camera than a typical compact instant model.
Film format and image size
The SL645 uses Fujifilm instax mini ISO 800 film. Each sheet measures 54 × 86 mm, with a 46 × 62 mm image area. Every exposure consumes a sheet, so film is an ongoing cost as well as a required supply.

NONS says the camera’s built-in optical module expands the image field toward an area comparable in size to 6 × 4.5 medium-format photography. The maker also says full-frame lenses can be used at their native focal-length designation. That does not guarantee uniform coverage: NONS’s FAQ notes that edge vignetting or distortion can vary with the focal length and lens selected.
Lens mount: EF-compatible, but not electronically controlled
The SL645 has a passive Canon EF mount. It does not provide an electronic signal for autofocus or electronically controlled aperture, so a modern EF autofocus lens may mount but should not be assumed to autofocus or let the camera control its aperture. A manual-aperture EF lens is the straightforward choice; aperture is set on the lens.

NONS offers manual EF lenses including a 35mm f/2.4 and a 50mm f/1.8. The 35mm focuses as close as 0.24 m and has an f/2.4–22 range; the 50mm focuses as close as 0.45 m and has an f/1.8–22 range. Both use a 52 mm filter thread.
Vintage lenses can broaden the options, but they need the appropriate mechanical adapter to EF. The manufacturer identifies Nikon F, M42, Pentax K/PK and Contax-Yashica/CY systems as usable with suitable adapters. Check the specific lens and adapter combination before buying; compatibility does not add autofocus or electronic aperture control.

Manual exposure, meter, and shutter speeds
The SL645 provides ten selectable shutter speeds, from 1/250 second to 1 second, plus Bulb. Bulb mode includes a counter up to 999 seconds. The camera also supports multiple exposure. Its integrated light meter helps judge exposure, but you still set the lens aperture yourself.

The maker’s operating sequence is to wind the shutter, choose a shutter speed, check the meter, adjust aperture, frame and focus, release the shutter, then eject the film. The sequence makes the camera’s deliberate pace clear: exposure and focus are photographer-controlled, not automatic.

Flash, power, and what else you need
A standard hot-shoe flash can be used, with synchronization up to 1/250 second. For the flash to work, NONS’s setup guidance says it must be seated, powered, charged and set appropriately.
The camera runs on a 2040 mAh lithium-ion battery, charged at DC 5 V, 1 A. Before shooting, plan for the recurring film supply as well as a lens if you do not already own a suitable manual-aperture EF lens. A vintage lens route also requires a matching mechanical adapter.

Buying context and price caveats
NONS’s live product listing displays a US$499 body price and a one-year warranty. Availability, shipping, tax and regional warranty terms can change, so confirm the details with the seller at purchase time. B&H lists an EF-mount instax mini version. The camera’s Kickstarter campaign ran from October 31 to November 30, 2022, raising HK$286,483 from 85 backers; those figures describe the dated launch campaign, not current stock or support.

Is the SL645 the right instant camera?
Choose it if interchangeable lenses, a through-the-lens SLR viewing experience and manual exposure matter more to you than compactness or automation. Its passive EF mount makes lens choice an important part of the decision: manual-aperture EF glass is simplest, while vintage Nikon F, M42, PK or CY lenses call for adapters. If you want a lightweight camera that meters, focuses and exposes with minimal input, the SL645’s 795 g body and hands-on workflow are likely a poor fit.
The available product information establishes the controls and format, but it does not provide a controlled comparison of image quality against other instant cameras. Sharpness, exposure accuracy, reliability and superiority should not be inferred from the specifications alone.
