Correct errors in the D&B record first, then allow up to five business days after D&B processes the change for it to reach Google. If the records already match or the error remains, submit Google’s verification issues form.

Read and save the exact message shown in Play Console. Google uses different messages for a number lookup failure and a mismatch between the number and address; they call for different checks.

| “We couldn’t look up your D-U-N-S number. Try again.” | Copy the number exactly as D&B displays it, and confirm that it belongs to the organization being verified. |
| “We couldn’t match the D-U-N-S number and the address that you provided.” | Compare the number and complete address against one D&B record, then check the organization name and address in the linked Google Payments profile. |
| “Your organization name or address is no longer verified.” | Check whether the D&B record or linked Payments profile has changed since verification. |
Google’s error-specific guidance also describes the address problem as: “The address information you provided does not match the business information registered with Dun & Bradstreet.” Your wording may vary; use the error displayed in your account to choose the relevant checks.
Fix a D-U-N-S lookup or record mismatch
1. Confirm the identifier with D&B
A D-U-N-S number is a unique nine-digit organization identifier. Enter it as D&B displays it, rather than relying on a number copied from an old form or another entity’s paperwork. Before requesting a number, check whether the organization already has one. Large organizations can have multiple D-U-N-S numbers for separate entities, so the number must correspond to the specific organization whose account is being verified. See Google’s required information for a Play Console developer account.

2. Compare the whole record, not just the number
For an address mismatch, make sure the D-U-N-S number, legal organization name, and complete address all belong to the same D&B record. Then compare those details with the organization information in the Google Payments profile linked to the developer account. Google bases organization verification on information in that linked profile, so checking a different Payments profile will not resolve a mismatch in the profile actually associated with the account.
If Google’s instructions for your particular error say to create a new Payments profile, follow that direction rather than reusing the old one. Google’s account-information troubleshooting guidance covers the relevant verification errors and profile steps.

3. Correct the authoritative record and wait for it to propagate
If the name, address, or organization details are wrong in D&B, request the correction from D&B. Google directs organizations to update these details there first, rather than trying to fix the underlying organization record by editing fields in Play Console. Once D&B has processed an address correction, Google says it may take up to five business days for the update to reach Google. Retry verification after that period; it is a general estimate, not a guarantee for an individual case.
Do not confuse this propagation estimate with the time to obtain a new identifier: Google says getting a D-U-N-S number can take up to 30 days. Google also says applying through D&B is free. Its guidance cautions against third-party services charging high administrative fees for this free registration. See Google’s developer identity verification guidance.

If the records match but Play Console still rejects them
After confirming the correct number, matching organization details, and linked Payments profile—and allowing time for a D&B correction to propagate—submit Google’s verification issues form. Include specific information so Google can identify the case:
- The exact Play Console error text.
- The D-U-N-S number and the organization name and address you are checking.
- What you corrected in the D&B record, and when D&B confirmed the correction was processed.
- Any relevant details about the linked Google Payments profile.
Google asks users to provide as much detail as possible. Its troubleshooting page links to the verification issues form. If you cannot access Play Console, contact Play Console support or use the online form described in Google’s identity verification guidance.

When an alternative verification route may apply
Google describes alternatives for organizations in regions D&B does not support and for known government organizations or agencies. These are exception routes for organizations unable to obtain a D-U-N-S number, not a general workaround for an unresolved mismatch. Check Google’s current identity-verification guidance and contact Play Console support or use its online form to determine whether your organization qualifies. Google’s published requirements list an exception for known government organizations or agencies; the appropriate route depends on the organization and its circumstances.

For an organization account with an unverified Google Payments profile, Google lists a D-U-N-S number (with an exception for known government organizations or agencies), an official government identity document, and an official organization document among the verification information it requires. The organization name and address come from the Google Payments profile linked to the account. Google announced expanded developer verification in 2023 as part of an effort to improve trust and transparency on Google Play; its current help pages describe the verification steps and requirements.
