On a Wi-Fi-capable Samsung washer that uses the US button sequence, hold Smart Control until AP appears, then hold Temp until OK appears. Turn the washer off. This network reset refreshes the saved Wi-Fi and network information the next time a device connects; it is different from simply power-cycling the appliance.
Reset the washer’s Wi-Fi settings
Samsung’s US procedure is for washers with Wi-Fi capability. The display should show AP and OK during the process.

- Press Smart Control until AP appears. Samsung says this takes about 3 seconds.
- Press and hold Temp until OK appears. Samsung says this takes about 7 seconds; the display then returns to AP.
- Turn the washer off. The next time a device connects, the washer’s Wi-Fi and network information will be refreshed.

Check the control sequence for your exact model
Button combinations are not universal. Samsung Canada confirms the Smart Control → AP, then Temp → OK sequence, while Samsung France documents a different sequence for the washers covered by its guidance:

- Turn the washer on.
- Hold Smart Control for 5 seconds until AP appears.
- Hold Rinse for 7 seconds until the washer beeps to confirm.
- Power-cycle the washer to restart pairing in SmartThings.
These regional instructions do not establish which sequence applies to every model. Match the steps to your washer’s manual and region; do not try a different button combination just because your panel lacks the listed buttons. Reconnect through SmartThings
After resetting, use SmartThings to add the washer if your model is compatible. In the app, add a washer, select your Wi-Fi network, and complete registration. Samsung’s SmartThings connection guide describes the process; available steps and compatibility depend on the model.

A network reset refreshes saved Wi-Fi and network information. A power cycle means removing power from the washer—or switching off its breaker—and restoring it. Samsung says there is no dedicated Reset button; these operations are not interchangeable. A power cycle may also fail to resolve an underlying washer fault. If the washer still will not connect
- Confirm that the washer supports Wi-Fi and SmartThings, and follow the manual for its exact model and region.
- Complete the SmartThings setup again after the network reset, including selecting the Wi-Fi network and finishing registration.
- If the reset controls or display do not match your washer, stop and consult its model-specific manual rather than trying another sequence.
- If pairing still fails, use Samsung’s model-specific connectivity troubleshooting; repeating a power cycle is not a substitute for diagnosing the fault.
