Is Heathkit still in business?
Yes. Heath Company says it offers Heathkit products worldwide and operates the Heathkit business. Its About page describes engineering and light-manufacturing facilities in California, with warehousing, fulfillment, and business operations on the East Coast. The company says it continues designing and producing hardware, software, electronics, publications, and educational products.
Those statements are consistent with the current Heathkit shop, which lists physical products and support services. That establishes that the brand is active; it does not establish the company’s revenue, sales volume, or employee count, none of which the reviewed official pages publish.
What happened to Heathkit?
Heathkit’s history includes multiple changes in ownership and company names, which helps explain why older accounts may refer to different companies. The official FAQ names Daystrom, Schlumberger, and Zenith among the brand’s former parent companies.

Heathkit.org’s history page describes the original electronic kits as products sold by The Heath Company from 1947 to 1955, before the company was sold to Daystrom. That history is distinct from whether Heathkit operates today: Heath Company’s current FAQ says it runs Heathkit operations.
Did Heathkit go bankrupt?
Heathkit’s FAQ addresses reports that the company went bankrupt in 2012. It notes that bankruptcy is a financial problem and does not necessarily mean a business has permanently ceased operating. The existence of past bankruptcy reports therefore does not, by itself, show that Heathkit is shut down today.
