To explore the Star Trek Enterprise bridge online, visit the Roddenberry Archive. Its Starships and Explore areas feature 360-degree bridge recreations, a timeline of the Enterprise’s design iterations, and production context. It is a digital archive for browsing and inspection—not a game in which you take a crew role.
Explore Enterprise bridge designs in the Roddenberry Archive
- Open the portal. Go to roddenberry.x.io and choose Starships or Explore. The portal’s navigation also lists Tours, Interviews, and Blog.
- Find the Enterprise timeline. Move through the ship’s bridge iterations, from early concepts and onscreen designs to the Enterprise-G seen in the finale of Star Trek: Picard. OTOY’s April 27, 2023 launch description calls these “many dozens” of iterations; it does not provide an exact count.
- Inspect the bridge. Rotate the 360-degree recreations to look around the stations, consoles, and turbolifts. OTOY described the views as 1:1 scale and noted working turbolifts and consoles.
- Use the context to compare versions. The archive combines immersive, in-universe interiors with recreations of filming sets and information about their design and production. That makes it useful for comparing the fictional bridge with the set designs behind it.
The portal’s individual models and controls may change. The cited launch coverage does not establish current browser requirements, device compatibility, accessibility features, or identical controls across models. A Smithsonian Magazine report from May 2, 2023 noted inconsistent user experience shortly after launch; that observation is not a current performance assessment.
Choose a different format if you want to play
The archive is for looking around and learning about bridge designs. For a crew experience or a story-driven game, there are separate Star Trek titles, but old announcements do not establish current storefront availability or compatibility.
| Option | What it offers | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Star Trek: Bridge Crew | A VR bridge game. Ubisoft’s February 2017 announcement described serving on the original-series Enterprise or USS Aegis, solo or in crews of up to four, including co-op Ongoing Voyages. | The announcement named PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift for the planned launch. These are launch-era details; check current storefronts and service status before relying on them. |
| Star Trek: The Video Game | A 2013 action-and-story game featuring Kirk and Spock and ship locations including the bridge, transporter room, engine room, turbolift shafts, observation lounge, engineering decks, and officers’ quarters. | Its broader ship exploration is part of a game, not a dedicated bridge archive. Verify present-day platform availability before seeking a copy. |
| StarTrek.com’s Discovery bridge-set feature | A 2017 video feature inviting viewers to look closely at the finished bridge set. | It is a video, not an interactive tour. Its original streaming details are dated and should not be treated as current. |
What the archive is—and is not
The Roddenberry Archive is the most direct choice for a browser-based look at Enterprise bridge history: it pairs 360-degree recreations with a timeline and design and production information. OTOY’s 2023 announcement describes the project as combining digital recreations of filming sets with immersive, in-universe interiors. It is not a substitute for a game if you want missions, character control, or cooperative play.
