Samsung’s general air-conditioner remote guidance does not give one universal reset or pairing sequence. Start with the batteries and signal checks below; for a model-specific reset or pairing procedure, use the manual for your exact air-conditioner model and region.
Try these checks before looking for a reset

Check the batteries
Samsung specifies two 1.5 V AAA batteries for the remote. Replace weak or depleted batteries, observing the polarity marks in the battery compartment. Samsung says replacing the batteries resets the remote’s modes; it does not describe this as a factory reset or as pairing the remote with the unit. See Samsung’s remote-control guidance.

Aim toward the indoor unit
Point the remote at the air conditioner’s indoor unit and test from within about 10 m, Samsung’s recommended maximum distance for communication. Move closer and make sure nothing is blocking the signal path.

Check whether the unit itself responds
If your indoor unit has its own controls, see whether it responds to them. Note any displayed error code, then consult the manual for your model rather than trying an unrelated button combination.

How do I pair my Samsung AC remote?
Samsung’s general guidance does not establish a universal pairing sequence. Remote designs and functions can vary by model, so a button sequence that applies to one air conditioner may not apply to another. Do not assume that removing and replacing the batteries pairs the remote: Samsung says this resets remote modes, not that it establishes a connection.
Find the complete model number of your air conditioner and select the matching regional Samsung support page and manual. Samsung’s AM028KNTDEH/TK support page illustrates how model-specific support pages provide manuals. Follow only the reset or pairing steps given for your exact model.

Where to find the model-specific instructions
- Check the label on the indoor unit or the product paperwork for the full model number, including any suffix.
- Open Samsung support for your country or region and search for that complete model number.
- Open the matching manual and look for instructions related to the remote, connection, or reset. Follow the listed steps and prerequisites exactly.
If the remote is damaged or missing, verify that a replacement is compatible with the full air-conditioner model and region. Samsung notes that remote appearance can differ by model, so appearance alone is not a reliable compatibility check.

Samsung publishes a separate self-diagnosis procedure for specified AR9500T models released after 2020. Its hidden key sequence is for that limited diagnostic purpose, not a general remote reset or pairing method. Do not try it as a shortcut unless your exact model and the applicable manual or support instructions call for it. See Samsung’s self-diagnosis instructions.

Samsung AC remote not working after changing batteries
- The remote display is blank: Recheck battery charge and orientation, then try a fresh pair of two 1.5 V AAA batteries.
- The display works but the unit does not respond: Aim at the indoor unit from within about 10 m and check whether the unit responds to its own controls, if available.
- The issue persists: Use the exact model’s manual or contact Samsung support with the model number and any error code. A model-specific procedure cannot be confirmed without those details.
