It does not automatically sign you out of devices. If you only want to disconnect one phone or tablet, remove the account from that device instead; that is reversible.
What permanent deletion removes
Samsung says deleting an account removes its account details, personal information, and remaining linked data. Samsung’s US guidance specifically identifies profile information, purchase history, content subscriptions, content uploads, and other account-linked information. Samsung says this information cannot be recovered after deletion. The precise information involved depends on the Samsung services linked to the account; deletion should not be assumed to affect every service or type of data in exactly the same way.
Review your account’s services, downloads, uploads, subscriptions, and purchases before proceeding. Samsung’s guidance describes deletion as closing the account and removing information associated with it, not as a guaranteed way to erase every file stored locally on every device.
Deletion does not sign devices out
Samsung warns that permanently deleting the account does not automatically sign it out of devices. Sign out on your devices before deleting the account. After deletion, you may no longer be able to sign in to use Samsung services to reset a device or erase information on it remotely.

Deleting the account versus removing it from a device

If your goal is only to stop using the account on one Galaxy device, remove it from that device rather than deleting the account. These actions are not interchangeable.
What to check before confirming deletion
- Account-linked content: Check subscriptions, purchases, uploads, downloads, and other Samsung services associated with the account.
- Devices: Sign out of each device first, especially if you may need Samsung account access for a device reset or remote erasure.
- Payment issues: Samsung’s US guidance says unresolved payment issues may prevent deletion.
- Family accounts: Samsung’s US guidance says a family organizer must delete child accounts first.
The payment and family-account conditions are documented in Samsung’s US guidance and may not apply identically in every region. Follow the prompts shown for your account and consult the support page for your region if deletion is blocked.

How to delete a Samsung account
- Sign in to your Samsung account on the Samsung account website.
- Open Profile or account management and choose Delete account.
- Review the warnings about linked information and services, then complete the on-screen confirmation only if you want permanent deletion.
