For clearer Samsung Voice Recorder audio, choose the recording mode that fits the number of speakers, place the phone close to the sound, and check which options your Galaxy model actually offers. Use General or Standard for one speaker; try Interview for two people if it appears in your app. Audio Eraser can reduce some background noise after recording on supported devices, but it is not a live-recording setting.
Choose a recording mode for the situation
Samsung’s Voice Recorder app offers General recording and, on supported devices, Interview mode. The right choice depends on who is speaking—not on a universal “best quality” setting.

For one speaker
Use the ordinary General or Standard mode shown in your app. Move the phone close enough to the speaker to capture a clear voice, and make a short test recording before an important take.
For two people
Try Interview mode when available, with both people positioned toward the phone. Samsung’s S9+ manual describes that model’s Interview mode as using microphones at the top and bottom of the device. This is model-era documentation, not a specification for every Galaxy phone. Play back the voices separately, if your version supports it, and check that both are intelligible before relying on the recording.

Find the settings your phone actually has
Open Voice Recorder and inspect its saved-recordings list and settings menu. Samsung’s India support guide shows Settings opened from the saved list using the three-dot menu. Labels, menu paths, and layouts can differ by device model, software version, and app version, so treat that path as a guide rather than a guarantee.
- Open the Samsung Voice Recorder app.
- From the list of saved recordings, open the three-dot menu and look for Settings, if that option appears.
- Check the recording modes and controls shown on your phone; do not assume an option exists if it is absent.
- If a feature described in a guide is missing, check your phone’s software and the Voice Recorder app version, then consult the manual for your specific model.
Samsung’s available sources do not establish a universal bitrate, audio format, “high quality” toggle, or noise-cancellation control for the current app across Galaxy models. Avoid changing a control based on a generic tap-by-tap guide unless it is present on your own device.

Use a microphone that suits the recording
Samsung Electronics’ Voice Recorder listing on Google Play says the app can record through the built-in microphone, a Bluetooth headset, or a compatible external microphone. A microphone closer to the speaker may help when the phone itself cannot be placed nearby, such as for an interview or voiceover.
Compatibility is not universal: Samsung’s listing does not name connector standards or guarantee that a particular accessory works with every Galaxy model. Before buying or connecting an external microphone, verify compatibility with both the phone and the accessory.

Try Audio Eraser after recording
Audio Eraser is post-capture processing: Samsung says it can reduce other noise and focus on voices in supported recordings. Samsung lists the feature on select phones and tablets running Android 14 with One UI 6.1 or higher; that requirement does not mean every device with those software versions is necessarily eligible.
Check your device’s feature availability, then compare the processed playback with the original where both are available. Keep the original if the cleanup makes the voice sound less natural or removes useful background sound.

Make a quick test before an important recording
- Pick General or Standard for one speaker, or Interview for two people if your app offers it.
- Place the phone close to the speakers and make a brief sample.
- Listen back to confirm the voices are clear; for Interview mode, check each voice separately where supported.
- If using a headset or external mic, test the exact phone-accessory combination before the real recording.
- Use Audio Eraser only after capture and compare its result with the original.
