If a new Gemini model isn’t in your model picker, first check that you’re signed in to the right Google account and that your account, location, language, and Gemini version of the app are eligible. If it’s still missing, Google has not necessarily enabled it for your account yet: there is no documented setting to force access or guaranteed individual rollout date. A Google AI plan may expand access to selected models, but it does not guarantee early access to every new model.
Check which models are available to your account
- Sign in to Gemini on the web or in the mobile app using the Google account you expect to have access.
- Open the model name in the prompt box to view the options currently offered to that account.
- Confirm that you’re checking the account connected to the relevant Google AI plan, or the account provided by your work or school.
Google’s Use Gemini Apps help explains how to select a model. If the model is not listed, switching accounts or repeatedly reinstalling the app cannot force Google to enable it.
Check whether your plan includes access
Google says select Google One AI plans expand access to certain Gemini features and models for personal accounts. The models, usage limits, and availability can vary by plan and may change. Google’s Gemini Apps limits & upgrades for Google AI subscribers page lists current plan details, but it does not establish that a subscription unlocks every newly announced model immediately.
Before upgrading, check whether the specific model is included for your plan and country. Treat the live plan page as the source of current entitlements: Google cautions that “Model names, versions, and availability may change.”

Check the requirements for the Gemini version you use
Eligibility for Gemini Apps and Gemini in Chrome is not identical. Requirements can depend on account type, age, location, language, device, and—in work or school settings—administrator settings. Meeting a product’s general requirements does not guarantee access to a particular model.
Gemini web app
Google says the Gemini web app is available in more than 70 languages and over 230 countries and territories; the accessed Where you can use the Gemini web app page does not state a publication year. Web availability does not automatically mean the mobile app or Gemini in Chrome is supported in the same place or language.

Gemini Apps accounts
Google’s Use Gemini Apps guidance distinguishes personal Google Accounts, qualifying work accounts for users aged 18 or older, and school accounts where the institution has enabled Gemini Apps. If you use a work or school account and the model is missing, ask your administrator whether Gemini access is enabled for your account.
Gemini in Chrome
Gemini in Chrome has separate requirements for region, device, Chrome version, sign-in, language, and—in some work or school environments—administrator enablement. Google says, “We’re gradually releasing Gemini in Chrome, so it might not be available to you just yet.” That statement concerns Gemini in Chrome; it is not a rollout timetable for models in Gemini Apps. If a purchased plan isn’t showing in the mobile app
If you recently purchased a Google AI plan and it does not appear in Gemini on your phone, Google recommends restarting the app and keeping it up to date. Follow the current instructions in Manage your Google AI plan from Gemini Apps. This can address a plan-display issue; it does not guarantee a model rollout or add a model that Google has not enabled for your account.

Google’s cited help pages do not provide a manual control to add a model that is unavailable to your account, or a guaranteed date for individual access. Use the models shown in your picker and check Google’s official Gemini help and announcements for updates. Avoid unofficial apps or downloads, sharing account credentials, or misrepresenting your location; none is an official way to get access.
