Export a note as a PDF
Samsung Notes offers two common ways to create a PDF. Menu names and screens can vary by Galaxy model and software version, so use the closest matching route on your device.
Save the PDF first
- Open Samsung Notes and open the note you want to transfer.
- Tap More options, then choose Save as file.
- Select PDF and follow the prompts to save the exported file.
This route leaves you with a PDF file to send or store for later. Samsung identifies the export option but does not promise that the save-location screens are identical across devices. Samsung’s PDF import and export guide lists PDF among the available file formats.
Share a PDF directly
- In the Samsung Notes list, touch and hold the note.
- Tap Share, then select PDF.
- Choose an available app or function to send the PDF.
This can be fewer steps if the destination you want appears in the sharing options. Samsung describes this share-first method in its Galaxy Notes guide.

Choose how to send the PDF to your iPhone
If you saved the PDF first, open or select it in the app where it is stored and use an available sharing option. Apple lists AirDrop, Messages, and Mail as ways to send a file copy from Files. Pick the method that suits your devices and setup; the available options may differ. Apple’s file-sharing instructions cover sending from Files.
- AirDrop: Use it if it is available for your devices and suits your setup.
- Messages or Mail: Send the PDF as a file attachment if that is more convenient.
If you chose Share directly in Samsung Notes, select a suitable destination offered by your device rather than saving and locating the PDF separately.

Open the PDF on your iPhone
Use Preview
Open the PDF in Preview if it appears in a recent or shared location, or browse to where it was received. Apple’s iPhone guide says Preview can browse Recents, Shared, or Browse, and open PDFs without first opening Files. See Apple’s Preview instructions.
Find it in Files
Open Files and locate the PDF in its folder. For a file you downloaded, go to Browse → Downloads. Files can locate and view documents; Apple’s Files basics guide explains browsing and opening files.

If you cannot find the export or the PDF
- The Samsung menu looks different: Open the note and inspect More options for Share or Save as file. Alternatively, return to the notes list, touch and hold the note, and look for Share. Samsung warns that screens and settings vary by model and software version; its support guide is dated October 25, 2023.
- The file was saved but is not visible in Preview: Check Preview’s Recents, Shared, and Browse locations, or use Files to browse to its folder.
- You downloaded the file: In Files, check Browse → Downloads.
Samsung and Apple document the export, sharing, and viewing steps, but do not quantify transfer time or guarantee identical rendering of handwriting, fonts, annotations, or page layout on every device. Check the exported PDF on the iPhone if its appearance matters for your use.
