GPUBoss was a desktop graphics-card comparison website that helped shoppers compare GPUs side by side and explore rankings by performance, gaming power, value, and price. It was described as a tool for evaluating upgrades and PC purchases, but a current AlternativeTo listing says the website is no longer available, so it should not be treated as a live source of GPU scores or prices.

What was GPUBoss?

GPUBoss was a graphics-card comparison service launched as a companion to CPUBoss. It focused on desktop GPUs for gaming and other graphics-intensive computing. EE Times described its role as summarizing GPU features and benchmark data in an easy-to-read format, while reporting that users could search across more than 40 criteria, including game performance and value (EE Times).

The site was intended to help people considering a graphics-card upgrade or a new PC purchase. Its approach was to make specifications and performance comparisons easier to scan rather than requiring buyers to assemble every detail themselves.

Could GPUBoss compare two graphics cards?

Yes. Historical descriptions of GPUBoss include a side-by-side comparison workflow: users could select two cards to compare, or browse rankings grouped around value, performance, gaming power, and price. Kotaku described the site as sorting cards by those dimensions (Kotaku).

  • 30,000 CMYK COLOR REFERENCES: This CMYK color chart book contains approximately 30,000 printed color combinations, providing extensive color options for design, proofing, and print production projects.
  • PRINTED COLOR COMPARISON TOOL: Unlike colors displayed on digital screens, this CMYK color guide offers physical printed samples that help evaluate actual print color appearance before production.
  • DESIGNED FOR PRINT & DESIGN WORKFLOWS: Suitable for graphic design, packaging design, advertising, industrial design, interior design, prepress preparation, plate making, and commercial printing applications.
  • IMPROVES COLOR COMMUNICATION: This color matching reference book helps compare CMYK values, verify color combinations, and support clearer communication between designers, clients, and printing teams.
  • PROFESSIONAL PRINT REFERENCE MANUAL: A practical printing color reference guide for studios, print shops, schools, agencies, and offices, supporting daily color planning, proofing, and project discussions.

That made GPUBoss useful as a starting point for narrowing a shortlist. Its rankings and comparisons should be understood as the site’s historical presentation, not as a current recommendation or a guarantee that one card is best for every buyer.

Is GPUBoss still available?

AlternativeTo currently labels the GPUBoss website as no longer available (AlternativeTo). There is no current owner statement, live benchmark methodology, or current GPUBoss catalog established here, so its former scores and rankings cannot be relied on as up-to-date buying information.

What should you compare when choosing a graphics card?

GPUBoss’s historical categories—performance, gaming power, value, and price—remain useful starting points. For a current purchase, also match the card to the games or applications you use, your target resolution, and the power capacity of your PC. Those additional checks are general buying guidance, not features confirmed for GPUBoss.

  • Gaming performance: Look for results in the games you actually play and at the resolution and graphics settings you intend to use. Performance at one resolution or in one game does not establish how a card will perform in every title.
  • Application workload: If you use rendering, video, or other graphics-intensive software, check results for that specific application rather than assuming gaming rankings predict its performance.
  • Price and value: Compare the current price of the exact card models available to you. Value depends on both the price and the performance you need; an old ranking cannot reflect today’s prices.
  • Power and fit: Check the card’s power requirements, the power supply available in your PC, and whether the card physically fits in the case before buying.
  • Target resolution and workload: Decide what you want the GPU to do first. A card suited to a particular gaming resolution or creative workload may not be the best choice for a different use.

Use current product specifications and recent, workload-specific benchmarks when making the final decision. A comparison site can help organize the shortlist, but the result is only as useful as its data’s date, methodology, and relevance to your intended use.
