Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThere is no evidence-based universal winner among Chrome, Comet, Edge, Brave and Dia. The most useful choice depends on what the assistant can see, whether it can act on websites, how much control you have over site access, and whether the feature is available on your device and account. Chrome and Edge have the clearest documented assistant capabilities in the sources compared here; Brave labels its agentic browsing feature early testing. Current primary-source details for Comet and Dia are not established well enough here for a like-for-like verdict.
How do the five AI browsers compare?
| Browser | Documented AI capability | Actions and controls | Availability and evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chrome with Gemini | Answers questions about the current page, summarizes longer material, and can work across multiple tabs; Google also describes integrations with its services and AI Mode in the omnibox. See Google’s Chrome AI overview. | Google describes auto browse for web errands, with permission and user handoff for some sensitive actions. It is distinct from asking Gemini to explain or summarize a page. | Rollouts vary by country, device, language and, for some features, subscription. Google’s dated announcements give the specific limits; they do not establish that every feature is available to every Chrome user. |
| Edge with Copilot | Browse with Copilot can interact with pages and tabs rather than only respond with explanations. | Microsoft documents clicking, typing and navigating, plus site-access settings, blocklists and a first-use consent dialog. Microsoft also warns that Copilot may encounter personal, sensitive or confidential information. | The linked Microsoft Support page documents the feature and its controls. Check the feature in your own Edge installation and region before relying on it. |
| Brave with Leo | Brave describes Leo as its built-in AI assistant and separately promotes AI answers in Brave Search. | Brave says its agentic browsing feature cannot access internal browser pages, non-HTTPS pages, the Chrome Web Store or sites flagged by Safe Browsing. | Brave’s May 5, 2026 update calls agentic browsing “early testing” and says it was available in all release channels. That status is not the same as a mature, unrestricted general release. |
| Perplexity Comet | A secondary comparison characterizes Comet as research-focused, but that is not enough to establish its current page context or exact assistant behavior. | Current authoritative details on agent actions, privacy controls and plan limits are not established by the sources cited here. | Current primary-source information on supported operating systems, regions and availability is not established here. Verify directly with Perplexity before switching or paying. |
| Dia | A secondary comparison describes Dia as a Mac-oriented workspace; current primary-source feature documentation is not established here. | Current authoritative details on agent actions, privacy controls and data handling are not established by the sources cited here. | Current primary-source information on supported systems, rollout, regions and pricing is not established here. Verify directly with Dia before switching or paying. |
The Comet and Dia descriptions above reflect a secondary comparison, not verified current product documentation; see the comparison’s framing. For those two browsers, treat the undocumented items in the table as questions to confirm with the vendor, not as proof that a feature is absent.
Which AI browser should you use?
Choose Chrome if you want Gemini alongside Google services
Chrome is the clearest fit if you already use Google services and want an assistant that can work with page content and multiple tabs. Google has also described more involved, permission-based web errands through Gemini Spark. On July 30, 2026, Google said Spark could use logged-in accounts and saved passwords to help with tasks such as researching flight options or scheduling apartment viewings, and could hand sensitive steps such as payments back to the user. Google’s product leaders Adam Coimbra, Director of Product Management for the Gemini app, and Charmaine Dsilva, Senior Director of Product Management for Chrome, wrote: “Now, with your permission, Spark can use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords to handle tedious web errands, like scheduling viewings for apartments you’ve saved or researching flight options and starting the booking process.” This describes Google’s product and safeguards, not an independent safety assessment. Read the July 30 announcement.
Choose Edge if you want Copilot to interact with websites
Browse with Copilot is the most explicit documented option here for direct browser actions: Microsoft says it can click, type and navigate tabs. That can be more useful than a page summary when a task involves moving through a site, but it also makes site permissions and the sensitivity of the information on those sites important. Microsoft’s instructions and risk notice are on its Browse with Copilot support page.

Consider Brave if you want Leo and are comfortable testing an early feature
Brave combines its Leo assistant with a separate AI-answer feature in Brave Search. Its agentic browsing boundaries may matter if a task involves a protected or restricted page, but the company’s update still labels the feature early testing. Consult Brave AI and the May 5, 2026 AI-browsing update for Brave’s descriptions.
Consider Comet or Dia only after checking current product details
The available descriptions suggest different possible fits—research-oriented for Comet and Mac-oriented for Dia—but those characterizations do not settle what either browser currently supports. Before choosing either, confirm the operating systems, countries, assistant capabilities, data practices and any paid-plan limits on the product’s own current pages. The sources available for this comparison do not support a stronger recommendation.

What should you check before enabling browser actions?
A browser that can click or type on your behalf has different consequences from one that only summarizes text. An assistant may encounter account details, private messages, payment information or other sensitive material while navigating. Convenience does not remove the need to decide which sites and tasks are appropriate to delegate.
- Review site access. In Edge, inspect Copilot’s site-access settings and blocklists before allowing it to work on sites where you are signed in.
- Keep sensitive steps under your control. Google says some sensitive actions require confirmation or a handoff. Treat that as a vendor-described safeguard, not a guarantee that every risky action will be caught.
- Check the page before acting on a result. Summaries and agent responses can omit context. For consequential decisions, verify the underlying page and details yourself.
- Do not infer equal protections across browsers. Google, Microsoft and Brave describe different boundaries in the sources cited here; comparable current policy evidence for all five is not available.
Google says its models are trained to detect known threats such as prompt injection and that auto browse requests confirmation before some sensitive actions. These are Google’s statements about its safeguards, not independent verification; see the August 18, 2026 Android announcement.

Where are Chrome’s Gemini features available?
“Gemini in Chrome” does not identify one feature with one global rollout. Google’s announcements describe different launches, devices and access conditions:
- India, New Zealand and Canada: On March 11, 2026, Google said Gemini in Chrome features were rolling out to Mac, Windows and Chromebook Plus users in these countries, initially on desktop and iOS, alongside support for more than 50 additional languages. See the March 11 rollout announcement.
- United Kingdom: Google’s July 14, 2026 announcement described a rollout to desktop users and said iOS expansion was planned for the following month. That announcement is a dated rollout statement, not confirmation of access for every account. See Google’s Chrome AI announcement.
- United States on Android: On August 18, 2026, Google described Gemini in Chrome for Android in the U.S. and said auto browse there was for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. Do not apply that subscription condition to every Chrome AI feature. See the Android and auto-browse announcement.
- U.S. web errands: Google’s July 30, 2026 announcement described an initial U.S. rollout for Gemini Spark integrated with Chrome. Its account and saved-password access was permission-based, with sensitive actions handed back to the user.
These announcements are snapshots of rollouts on their respective dates. They do not establish current access for every account, language, browser version or device; check the feature and eligibility shown in your own browser.

Which AI browser is best for privacy?
The evidence here does not justify naming a single “most private” browser. The vendors do not provide a consistent, directly comparable set of privacy details in the sources cited here, and capability alone does not establish how data is handled. Microsoft is explicit that Copilot may encounter sensitive or confidential information and documents site-level controls; Google describes permission and some confirmations for agentic tasks; Brave lists pages its early-testing agent cannot access. Those facts help explain controls and limits, but they are not a five-way privacy ranking. Current comparable privacy and data-handling information for Comet and Dia is not established here.
If privacy is your deciding factor, read each product’s current privacy and access documentation before enabling an assistant, and consider whether the sites you use contain information you would not want an automated assistant to encounter. For any agentic feature, start with low-risk tasks and avoid delegating sensitive actions casually.

How strong is the evidence for ranking these browsers?
The available material is not a controlled five-browser comparison. A 2026 arXiv preprint reports evaluating 41,331 AI-generated summaries drawn from 13,777 articles across 15 U.S. news outlets, covering Chrome (Gemini), Edge (Copilot) and Comet. Those figures describe the study’s reported scope; they do not establish a winner among all five browsers or support a specific accuracy or bias conclusion here. See the 2026 preprint.
That is why the practical comparison is by documented capability and fit rather than a numbered ranking: Chrome has the most detailed dated rollout descriptions in this set, Edge documents direct site interaction and controls, and Brave identifies agentic browsing as early testing. The current feature, platform, privacy and pricing details needed for an equivalent assessment of Comet and Dia are not established by the cited sources.
