AMD’s disclosed chip manufacturing network is primarily a network of outside suppliers, not a directory of AMD-owned factories. Its FY2025 Form 10-K names third-party companies for wafer production and for assembly, testing, marking, and packaging, while separately listing AMD offices and operating locations. Those office locations are not evidence of chip fabrication there.
Does AMD own factories that make its chips?
AMD’s FY2025 Form 10-K describes manufacturing arrangements with external foundries and downstream manufacturing partners. The filing does not identify an AMD-owned wafer-fabrication plant, nor does it provide a product-by-product map of factories. The most accurate description is that AMD relies on a supplier network for manufacturing stages, rather than treating the listed AMD offices as factories. AMD’s FY2025 Form 10-K was filed February 4, 2026.
Where are AMD’s offices and significant operations?
AMD’s headquarters are in Santa Clara, California. Its FY2025 filing also lists significant operations in Austin, San Jose, Shanghai, Markham, Longmont, Dublin, Singapore, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. These are company property or operations disclosures; the filing does not characterize them as a list of chip fabs.
AMD reported approximately 6.8 million square feet of global space for research and development, engineering, administrative, and warehouse use as of December 27, 2025: about 5.4 million leased and 1.4 million owned. That figure describes corporate space, not factory floor area. AMD’s FY2025 Form 10-K

Which companies fabricate AMD wafers?
Wafer fabrication makes the silicon dies used in chips. AMD’s filing names suppliers by product category; it does not say that every AMD product uses every supplier listed.
| Supplier | Product category named by AMD | What the filing establishes |
|---|---|---|
| TSMC | HPC, FPGA, and adaptive SoC products | AMD says it uses TSMC for wafer production in these categories. |
| GLOBALFOUNDRIES | HPC products | AMD says it purchases certain HPC wafers at 12 nm and 14 nm. |
| TSMC, UMC, and Samsung | Programmable-logic-device ICs | AMD identifies these suppliers for this category. |
HPC means high-performance computing. These disclosures identify suppliers and some product categories or process nodes, but do not specify the exact fab address for each chip model or generation. AMD’s FY2025 Form 10-K

Where are AMD chips assembled and tested?
Wafer fabrication is only one stage. After fabrication, wafers may be sorted at the foundry or sent to partners or subcontractors for assembly, test, marking, and packaging (often abbreviated ATMP). AMD says this downstream work takes place through providers in the Asia-Pacific region.
- AMD identifies two ATMP joint ventures with Tongfu Microelectronics.
- It also names SPIL and KYEC as service providers.
The filing supports describing an Asia-Pacific partner network; it does not assign every processor, graphics chip, or other product to a specific partner facility. AMD’s FY2025 Form 10-K

Does TSMC’s global footprint show where AMD chips are made?
No. A supplier’s locations show where that company operates, not which of its facilities make a particular customer’s products. TSMC’s 2025 annual report describes facilities in Taiwan and wafer fabs at TSMC Nanjing, TSMC Arizona, and Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing. It reports annual capacity across facilities managed by TSMC and subsidiaries of more than 17 million 12-inch-equivalent wafers in 2025. That is TSMC-wide capacity—not AMD output, a capacity reservation for AMD, or proof that each named site produces AMD chips. TSMC’s 2025 Annual Report
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What can be said about where a specific AMD chip is made?
The cited public disclosures do not provide a complete product-to-fab or product-to-packaging-site map. AMD names manufacturing suppliers and categories, but a supplier’s overall geographic footprint cannot establish which location made a particular product. To make a precise claim about a model or chip generation, a source would need to connect that product to a specific facility; the filings cited here do not do so.
