Samsung support notices show the Galaxy S24 September 2026 security update reaching multiple markets, with listed firmware releases dated September 30. The update carries Android security patch level 2026-09-05. Availability is not confirmed for every model, country, or carrier as of October 3, 2026.
What the September Galaxy S24 update includes
The listed firmware runs Android 16 and is described by Samsung as improving security. These notices do not identify a major Android or One UI version upgrade, nor do they provide a S24-specific, item-by-item vulnerability changelog.
Samsung’s September Security Maintenance Release bulletin describes Google patches in the September package and Samsung-specific fixes, some undisclosed. Google’s September 2026 Android Security Bulletin provides details about Android patch-level vulnerabilities. These bulletins describe package-level fixes; they do not establish that every fix applies to every Galaxy S24 build.

Samsung’s SM-S921U notice is on a German-language support page, but it identifies the US model variant and lists the build details above. Samsung says update availability and changes may differ by model, country, and service provider, so the listed notices do not establish that every S24 variant or carrier had received the update by October 3.

How to check your Galaxy S24
- Open Settings → Software update → Download and install.
- If an update is offered, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it.
- After installation, check the software information on your phone and compare its model, build number, and security patch level with the applicable Samsung notice above.
If no update appears, Samsung recommends checking periodically. A missing offer does not by itself mean your phone is unsupported: rollout availability can vary by model, country, and network operator.
