NBCUniversal announced that Johnson would host the October 3, 2026, episode, with Turnstile as musical guest, while promoting Verity.
What happens in Dakota Johnson’s SNL promo?
A transcript of the promo describes Johnson introducing herself and Turnstile as the week’s musical guest, only for cast members to interrupt with jokes. In one exchange, someone asks whether she is promoting anything; Johnson replies, “Yes, I’m actually here.” Another interruption introduces a “rock-hard fist” as a way to encourage viewers to see her new movie. A separate joke uses the fact that this is her third time hosting as a setup.

The transcript repeatedly gives Johnson the same basic introduction: “Hi, I’m Dakota Johnson, and I’ll be hosting SNL this week with musical guest Turnstile.” These lines are from a Dailymotion transcript and have not been independently verified against the original 2026 video. The phrase “keeps a straight face” is an editorial description; transcript text alone cannot establish Johnson’s facial expression.
When was Johnson scheduled to host, and who was the musical guest?
NBCUniversal’s season announcement scheduled Johnson to host SNL on October 3, 2026, with Turnstile as musical guest. It described this as Johnson’s third hosting appearance and Turnstile’s first time appearing as the show’s musical guest. The episode was tied to promotion for Verity, which NBCUniversal said was scheduled to open in theaters October 2.
How could viewers watch the episode?
NBCUniversal listed an 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT broadcast on NBC and a live stream on Peacock. The Associated Press also reported the 11:30 p.m. Eastern airtime and Peacock stream. Those details describe the scheduled broadcast; availability after the air date may differ.
