Samsung’s Android 17 update is called One UI 9. Samsung confirmed the stable rollout began with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra; its September 16, 2026 announcement also said One UI 9 had debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8. A separate report dated October 1 listed limited stable availability for several S25 and Z-series devices. Availability varies by market and device, so a model appearing on a list does not guarantee that its update is available to you.
Galaxy devices reported with stable One UI 9
The following is a dated status snapshot, not a complete official Samsung rollout list. On October 1, 2026, 9to5Google reported these models as having stable Android 17/One UI 9 availability; it marked the S25-series entries and the listed Z-series entries as limited availability.
| Galaxy family | Models in the October 1 report | Availability qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra | Samsung said the stable rollout was beginning with these models on September 16, 2026. |
| Galaxy S25 | Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, S25 Edge | Limited availability, according to the October 1 report. |
| Galaxy Z | Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, Z TriFold | Limited availability, according to the October 1 report. |
Samsung’s announcement separately says One UI 9 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8. That debut group is not evidence that the update has reached every region or carrier. The official announcement does not provide a complete model-by-model schedule. See Samsung’s September 16 announcement and the October 1 device-status report for their respective scopes.
How to check whether your Galaxy has the update
- Open Settings on the Galaxy phone or tablet.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install and follow any on-screen instructions if an update is offered.
If no update appears, that does not by itself mean the model is ineligible. Samsung says availability may vary by country, region, language, device model, and current OS or One UI version. Carrier or unlocked status can also be useful context when checking local availability; consult Samsung or your carrier for device-specific information.

Stable update, beta, and eligibility are different
A beta announcement means a software test was offered to eligible participants in select markets; it does not confirm that the stable release is available. Samsung announced an S26-series One UI 9 beta on May 12, 2026, then announced beta expansion to the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 FE on September 1. Those announcements should not be counted as stable-update confirmation. See Samsung’s May beta announcement and September beta expansion.
Likewise, a forecast that a phone may qualify under Samsung’s update policy is not proof that it has received One UI 9. SamMobile describes its eligibility list as a reference based on policy and indications rather than an official Samsung list: its Android 17 eligibility guide.

What One UI 9 adds
Samsung describes several One UI 9 features, though availability can depend on device and market and the descriptions are not independent performance tests. My FanCam tracks a selected person in recorded video and reframes the footage to keep them centered. Document Scan is intended to digitize difficult pages, including curved book pages and corner-folded paper, with less manual adjustment. Voice Recorder presents summaries in a structured format.
Samsung also describes Security Brief as surfacing alerts about malware, apps from unknown sources, and unnecessary permissions. Privacy Alerts identifies potential privacy risks related to background permission access. Scam detection is expanding to additional countries and languages, with availability varying by market. Feature details are in Samsung’s One UI 9 announcement.

What the rollout list can and cannot tell you
The October 1 report is useful for identifying models with reported stable availability, but it is a dated snapshot rather than Samsung’s worldwide live status page. Rollouts continue over time, and Samsung says availability varies. Check the software-update screen on your exact device and local Samsung or carrier support information rather than assuming that every phone in the same series receives the update at once.
