Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe Pixel 11 Pro starts $100 below the iPhone 18 Pro in the U.S., while Apple’s phone offers a variable-aperture main camera and manual camera controls, and Google’s phone lists a 5x Portrait Mode and Pro Zoom up to 120x. They are both released standard-size Pro models—not the Pixel 11 Pro XL or iPhone 18 Pro Max—but official specifications alone do not establish which takes better photos, lasts longer, or runs faster in everyday use. The better fit depends on the features, ecosystem and regional availability that matter to you.
Are both phones available, and what do they cost?
Yes. Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro on August 12, 2026, and says sales began August 20. Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro on September 9; availability began September 18 in initial markets and September 25 in 20 additional countries and regions. These dates and launch details come from the companies’ announcements.
Google lists a U.S. starting price of $1,099 for Pixel 11 Pro; Apple lists $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro. That is a $100 difference between advertised starting prices, not a complete value comparison: prices outside the U.S., taxes, promotions and storage configurations can differ.
| Standard Pro model | U.S. starting price | Listed storage options |
|---|---|---|
| Google Pixel 11 Pro | $1,099 (Google, 2026) | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB (Google Pixel Help specifications, accessed October 3, 2026) |
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro | $1,199 (Apple, 2026) | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB (Apple, 2026) |
The entry configurations are both 256GB, but the cited announcements do not establish what every higher-storage configuration costs, so the starting-price gap should not be assumed to hold at each capacity. Google lists 12GB of RAM with the 256GB Pixel and 16GB with its 512GB and 1TB models; the cited Apple announcement does not state iPhone 18 Pro RAM.

How do their size and displays compare?
Google lists the Pixel 11 Pro at 6.3 inches (161mm), with a 1280 × 2856 LTPO OLED display, 495 pixels per inch and a 1–120Hz refresh rate. Its listed dimensions are 152.7 × 71.9 × 8.4mm, and its weight is 204g. Google also advertises peak brightness up to 3,600 nits for the Pro models; that is a company specification, not a matched brightness test against Apple.
The source material cited here does not state iPhone 18 Pro display size, resolution, refresh rate, dimensions or weight. It therefore supports describing the Pixel’s specifications, but not declaring one standard Pro phone smaller, lighter, sharper or brighter than the other. Check the exact models in person if hand fit or screen size is decisive.
Which phone offers the camera features you want?
Pixel 11 Pro: telephoto reach and portrait options
Google describes an upgraded 48MP telephoto camera with a larger sensor and 30% more light sensitivity, Portrait Mode at 5x, Pro Zoom up to 120x, and Night Sight capture up to 4.5 times faster. These are Google’s feature claims. Google also cautions that 120x zoom is not available with every camera, app or mode and that results may vary; it is a maximum feature limit, not a promise of equivalent quality at every zoom level.

iPhone 18 Pro: aperture and hands-on controls
Apple describes a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. In the Camera app, Pro controls let users manually adjust aperture, shutter speed and white balance and use a histogram. Apple also lists texture and grain controls in Photographic Styles, post-capture Cinematic effects for video shot up to 60fps, and 4K Dolby Vision HDR Time-lapse.

Apple Reference Image is an optional feature intended to preserve signed sensor data for a reference photo. Apple says capture is unavailable at launch in the EU; the feature itself is unavailable at launch in China. Apple says SynthID support is expected in a software update later in 2026.
These feature lists point to different emphases: Google highlights telephoto and zoom modes, while Apple details aperture and manual controls. They do not show which phone produces better real-world photos or video. No independent side-by-side camera test is established by the cited sources, so choose based on the controls and shooting options you expect to use rather than treating a megapixel count or maximum zoom number as a quality verdict.

What do the battery and charging claims actually say?
Google lists a typical 4,850mAh Pixel 11 Pro battery (minimum 4,707mAh) and claims “30+ hour battery life.” It says the phone can reach up to 55% charge in about 30 minutes using a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately, and supports Qi2.2-certified Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 25W. Google notes that actual battery life and charging results vary with use and equipment.
The cited Apple announcement does not provide a comparable iPhone 18 Pro battery capacity or charging figure in the material available here. Apple’s battery discussion includes testing on preproduction devices under Apple’s own conditions, but the cited information does not establish a matched Pixel-versus-iPhone endurance result. Do not interpret Google’s “30+ hour” claim as proof that it outlasts Apple’s phone.

How do software, AI and long-term support differ?
Pixel: Google services and a stated seven-year update commitment
Google says Pixel 11 Pro receives seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. It identifies Tensor G6 and Titan M3 in the specifications, and says Tensor G6 runs its latest Gemini Nano model and powers its Gemini Intelligence features. Google’s launch description presents these as platform capabilities; it is not an independent performance comparison with Apple’s chip or AI features.

iPhone: Apple Intelligence, Siri beta and language limits
Apple lists A20 Pro, a next-generation vapor chamber, iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence with Siri AI. Apple claims up to 40% greater sustained performance than the previous-generation iPhone 17 Pro. That is Apple’s own generational comparison, not a matched test against Pixel 11 Pro. Apple says Siri AI beta began for supported devices set to English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish support coming in October; it also cautions that features vary by language, region and local law.
The cited Apple announcement does not specify a comparable iPhone 18 Pro update-support duration. If a stated support period is central to your purchase, Google’s seven-year commitment is explicit in the cited Pixel announcement, while an equivalent duration is not established here for iPhone.

- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Sleek, solid, and built to last: Pixel 11 has the slimmest camera bar yet in its class, a smooth satin back, and ultra-durable glass and IP68 water and dust protection, so it’s intentionally built to stay strong for years[3,4]
- Long battery life: With 30+ hours of reliable power and upgraded wireless charging, your Google Pixel 11 can charge 25% faster than before[5,6]; it even powers up to 55% in about 30 minutes with ultra-fast wired charging[7]
- The latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera: Take super crisp closeups with an upgraded 30x Super Zoom[3]; Night Sight takes clear photos, portraits, and panos in low-light settings
Also check SIM requirements for the specific iPhone 18 Pro model sold in your market. Apple lists eSIM-only versions in Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the U.S. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. That list is regional, not a claim that every iPhone 18 Pro worldwide is eSIM-only.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider Pixel 11 Pro if its lower U.S. entry price, Google’s stated seven-year update period, 5x Portrait Mode or high-maximum-zoom feature set best match your priorities.
- Consider iPhone 18 Pro if you want Apple’s described variable-aperture main camera and manual Camera app controls, or you already depend on Apple’s ecosystem and services.
- Compare the exact local configurations before deciding: the U.S. starting prices do not account for regional pricing, taxes, offers or every storage tier, and the cited information does not provide matched independent tests for camera quality, battery life, display performance or speed.
There is no evidence in the cited official announcements and specifications for an overall performance or camera winner. The practical choice is the phone whose specific features, storage option, regional compatibility and ecosystem fit your needs.
