Cisco’s official European event in 2010 was Networkers at Cisco Live, scheduled for Barcelona from January 25–28. Cisco described it as a technology conference and exhibition for IT and communications professionals, with technical sessions, keynotes, hands-on learning and an exhibitor area. The title “I’m at Cisco Networkers 2010” does not, by itself, verify that a particular person attended.

What was Cisco Networkers 2010?

Cisco’s January 22, 2010 announcement called the European conference Networkers at Cisco Live and described it as Cisco’s annual European technology conference and exhibition. The event continued the Networkers program within the Cisco Live family; Cisco said Networkers would join that family in 2010. Its theme was “Knowledge Is Power.”

The event was aimed at IT and communications professionals seeking technical education and exposure to collaboration technologies. It combined conference programming with an exhibition called the World of Solutions.

What was on the programme?

Cisco’s 2010 announcement listed more than 240 technical training and educational sessions and more than 60 exhibitors. The programme also included keynotes, Meet the Engineer opportunities, technical design clinics, collaboration and data centre super sessions, and the World of Solutions exhibition.

The 2010 registration brochure additionally described hands-on labs, meals and social activities. It listed one complimentary Cisco Career Certification exam, subject to the brochure’s conditions. The brochure characterized the World of Solutions as an exhibition and interactive learning area featuring technology demonstrations from Cisco and partners, design clinics, special features and promotions.

What attendance figures did Cisco publish?

Cisco’s announcement quoted Amanda Jobbins, then vice president of European Marketing, saying the event brought together more than 5,000 IT networking professionals from across Europe. That is a figure in her quoted statement, not an independently verified final attendance count. Separately, Cisco’s 2010 exhibitor brochure said more than 3,500 delegates were expected; an expected count should not be read as the final turnout.

The exhibitor brochure also reported that 86% of attendees said the event was a leading event for networking professionals. The available brochure excerpt does not provide enough methodology to treat that figure as an independent survey result.

What did registration cost in 2010?

The registration brochure listed these historical full conference pass rates. They are 2010 prices, not current registration offers.

The brochure described conference sessions, meals, social activities and the conditional complimentary certification exam among the pass offerings. Technical seminars were separately priced, and travel and accommodation were excluded.

Does “I’m at Cisco Networkers 2010” refer to Barcelona or Acapulco?

The strongest official documentation for the European event identifies Barcelona and January 25–28, 2010. A secondary archive contains the fragment “Cisco Networkers 2010, Acapulco Oct 6 -8,” but that snippet does not establish complete event details or show that it refers to the same event. Cisco’s October 6, 2010 newsroom release datelined Acapulco concerns the opening of a Center of Innovation in Mexico City; it does not verify an Acapulco conference. The Barcelona event and the Mexico references should therefore be kept distinct.

Can the title be treated as an attendee’s report?

No attendance account or author is established by the title alone. Without separate evidence identifying the writer and confirming attendance, it is safest to treat “I’m at Cisco Networkers 2010” as an unverified status-style phrase rather than a first-person report. The documented event facts concern Cisco’s Barcelona conference, not a verified attendee’s experience.
