Lenovo product pages began listing support for Intel Xeon E-6300-series processors in three ThinkSystem V3 servers before Lenovo’s configurators offered those chips as selectable options. The early references cover the ST50 V3 and ST250 V3 tower servers and the SR250 V3 1U rack server; they signal a specification-page update, not a confirmed retail launch.

What Lenovo’s update showed

On February 17, 2025, ServeTheHome reported that Lenovo’s specification pages for the ThinkSystem ST50 V3, ST250 V3, and SR250 V3 listed support for an “E-2400/ 6300-series processor.” That wording was Lenovo’s product-page label as reported by ServeTheHome, not an Intel launch announcement. ServeTheHome’s report

At the time of that report, Lenovo’s configurators still offered Xeon E-2400 choices only. A listed processor family and an orderable configuration are different things: the page update indicated anticipated support, but did not establish that customers could buy an E-6300-equipped system.

Which Lenovo servers were listed?

Model Form factor Likely deployment context E-6300 status in the February 17, 2025 report
ThinkSystem ST50 V3 Small tower Small-business or edge deployments Specification page listed E-2400/6300-series support; configurator did not offer E-6300 selections.
ThinkSystem ST250 V3 Tower Small-business or edge deployments Specification page listed E-2400/6300-series support; configurator did not offer E-6300 selections.
ThinkSystem SR250 V3 1U rack server Rack deployments Specification page listed E-2400/6300-series support; configurator did not offer E-6300 selections.

The report did not establish E-6300-specific memory or storage configurations for these models. Their listing should not be read as confirmation of every possible configuration or of a particular processor SKU.

Xeon E-6300 is not Xeon Gold 6300

The similar numbers can lead to a costly compatibility mistake. Xeon E-6300 and Xeon Gold 6300 are distinct processor families. ServeTheHome describes the Gold 6300 family as using DDR4 memory and PCIe Gen4 with a different socket; those platform characteristics separate it from the E-2400-compatible systems discussed in the report. Do not assume a Xeon Gold 6300 processor will fit or work in one of these servers simply because the model number includes “6300.”

What is—and is not—confirmed

The February 2025 report supports a narrow conclusion: Lenovo’s pages had begun referencing the E-6300 series for three V3 servers, while the ordering configurators had not caught up. It does not establish final Xeon E-6300 product specifications, retail status, or system configurations.

Lenovo announced ThinkSystem V4 servers powered by Intel Xeon 6 on February 24, 2025, describing the systems in the context of density, efficiency, and data-center modernization. That was a separate, broader infrastructure announcement; it did not confirm E-6300 launch details for the three V3 servers. Lenovo’s ThinkSystem V4 announcement

Can you buy a ThinkSystem ST50 V3 with Xeon E-6300?

The cited February 17, 2025 evidence does not confirm that you can order one. It found E-6300 references on the specification page but only E-2400 choices in Lenovo’s configurator at that time. Buyers should check the current Lenovo listing or ask Lenovo or an authorized reseller to confirm the exact processor SKU, regional availability, and orderable configuration before purchasing.
