It combines a 64 MHz ARM Cortex-M4F, Bluetooth 5 Low Energy radio, 30 programmable I/O pins and an embedded ceramic antenna, making it a compact option for wireless sensors and other space-constrained designs.
What is the BLYST Nano?
BLYST Nano is a system-on-module (SoM), not a finished Bluetooth gadget or a complete development board. It puts the nRF52832 wireless microcontroller and supporting components on a small module that can be incorporated into a host PCB. I-SYST describes it as a low-power module for wearable and sensor applications, as well as control and automation projects. I-SYST’s product page
The module’s 10 × 7 × 1.6 mm dimensions include an embedded ceramic antenna. It also integrates crystals, coils and DC/DC support components, reducing the number of wireless-design components the host board needs to accommodate. The module still needs a host circuit board, power and application-specific connections.

- SupportThree Modes: AP, STA, and AP+STA
- Ultra-Low power consumption, Compatible with Arduino IDE
- ESP32 is a safe, reliable, and scalable to a variety of applications
What can its 30 I/O pins and peripherals do?
The 30 programmable I/O pins give designers flexibility to connect sensors, controls and other board-level components. The nRF52832’s listed peripheral set includes SPI, I2C-compatible two-wire, UART, PWM, a 12-bit ADC, PDM microphone input, NFC-A, RTC, random-number generation, AES and quadrature decoding. Which functions can be used together depends on pin assignment and the design.
This combination can suit a sensor node that reads analog or digital inputs and sends data over Bluetooth, or a compact controller that needs wireless connectivity alongside local inputs and outputs. The number of I/O pins is not a guarantee that every pin can perform every function simultaneously.

Is it suitable for a wearable or sensor?
Its dimensions, integrated antenna and low-power wireless design make BLYST Nano relevant to wearables and sensors where PCB space is limited. I-SYST also lists smart-home and industrial mesh, smart-city infrastructure, interactive entertainment, gaming controllers, connected health and VR/AR as intended application areas. Those are possible design targets, not assurances about battery life, radio range, medical suitability or performance in a finished product.
Before choosing it, check that the module’s 1.8–3.6 V operating range fits the planned power supply, that the exposed I/O and peripherals cover the design, and that the host board can accommodate the antenna and required RF layout. The module’s integration reduces support-component work; it does not remove the need to design and validate the complete product.

What programmer or development tools does it use?
I-SYST documents IDAP-Link as a CMSIS-DAP/JTAG development accessory for programming and debugging ARM Cortex-M devices. Its IDAP-Link information is the relevant starting point for firmware development. Confirm the exact wiring and software requirements against the module and accessory documentation for the setup you plan to use.
For a more complete interface rather than a bare module, I-SYST’s BlueIO832-Mini is built around BLYST Nano and provides configurable UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, ADC, NFC-antenna and JTAG functions. It is a separate product, not a substitute name for the module. See I-SYST BlueIO832-Mini.
