Rockstar’s “GTA 6 Collector’s Edition” is not a game edition. The officially named Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a $399.99 limited-edition merchandise box, and Rockstar says the game is sold separately. That is the central change from 2013’s GTA V Collector’s Edition, which bundled the full game with memorabilia, digital bonuses and GTA Online content.
What Rockstar officially calls the GTA 6 collector’s product
Rockstar calls the product the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. It is a themed Collector’s Box inspired by Macca the Gator, an in-world Leonida television show. Rockstar lists the U.S. price at $399.99, says the box arrives on November 19, 2026, and describes pre-orders as available while supplies last.
The box is an adult collectible rather than a toy. The Rockstar Store lists its size as 19 × 13.5 × 12.5 inches and warns about small parts and sharp edges. The announcement also says ordering details for Asia, Latin America and Australia would follow, so availability should not be assumed to be worldwide.
What is inside the Vice City Collection?
The announced set contains 11 physical items:

The list does not describe a boxed copy of GTA VI, a SteelBook, or digital gameplay benefits as part of the collection. The poster is a Leonida souvenir, not evidence that a game license is included.

Does the GTA 6 collector’s box include the game?
No. Rockstar explicitly says the game is sold separately. Buying the $399.99 Vice City Collection does not replace buying a Standard or Ultimate Edition of GTA VI.
The physical Standard Edition is also unusual by older console-collector standards: Rockstar says it is a box containing a download code, not a disc. It is expected to ship and be available for pickup from November 12 to support preload, while Rockstar lists November 19, 2026 as the game’s release date.

How GTA V’s 2013 Collector’s Edition worked
Take-Two and Rockstar announced GTA V’s Collector’s Edition at $149.99 in 2013. Unlike the GTA VI merchandise box, it was a complete game edition. It included the full retail game, the Special Edition contents and additional physical and digital bonuses.
Included with GTA V’s Collector’s Edition

- A 21.5 × 26.75-inch blueprint map
- A special-ability boost
- Stunt Plane Trials
- Bonus outfits and tattoos
- Additional weapons
- A security-deposit bag with logo key

- Custom characters for GTA Online
- Unique vehicles and garage property
- A collectible outer box
Those features made the 2013 product both a premium physical package and an expanded game license. Its $149.99 price and the 2026 box’s $399.99 price are nominal figures from different years for fundamentally different products, so they are not a like-for-like price increase or an inflation-adjusted comparison.

The biggest shift is not simply the higher number on the price tag. It is the role of the premium product: GTA V’s package expanded ownership of the game, whereas GTA VI’s package is primarily a physical fan collection.
Which GTA VI game editions are confirmed?
Rockstar identifies Standard and Ultimate Editions, with confirmed pre-order platforms of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official material reviewed here does not establish a PC release or date.

Standard Edition
The Standard Edition is the base game. In physical form, Rockstar says it comes as a download code in a box with no disc.
Ultimate Edition
The Ultimate Edition includes the game plus additional in-game content, including a ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, weapon variants and styles, vehicles, builds, shops, salons, a tattoo parlor, gear, a compound and a classic car collection. Rockstar says this content is uncovered across chapters of Jason and Lucia’s story.

Pre-order details that can change
Rockstar lists a pre-order offer for digital purchases of either game edition made before November 20, 2026: the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. The pack includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.
These are announced, date-sensitive terms. Check Rockstar’s current store and support pages before ordering because eligibility, timing, regional availability and stock can change.
What buyers should check before ordering
- Want the game? Budget separately for a Standard or Ultimate Edition.
- Want a disc? The physical Standard Edition is described as a download code in a box, not disc media.
- Want gameplay bonuses? The listed Vice City Collection contents are physical merchandise; the Ultimate Edition is the separately sold game package with in-game additions.
- Need delivery to your country? Rockstar says regional ordering details for Asia, Latin America and Australia would follow.
- Relying on availability? The box is limited edition and offered while supplies last.
Bottom line: a different kind of collector’s edition
Over 13 years, Rockstar has moved from a traditional premium game bundle to a standalone merchandise product. GTA V’s $149.99 Collector’s Edition delivered the game, physical memorabilia and gameplay extras in one package. GTA VI’s $399.99 Vice City Collection delivers a larger, more elaborate assortment of Leonida-themed collectibles, but no game, disc or listed digital bonus. Treat it as merchandise for fans who specifically want the physical items, not as the premium way to purchase GTA VI.
