Yes. ChatGPT now lets you generate a visual preview of clothing and accessories on yourself: choose Try on on a supported product listing and take or upload a selfie, or upload an item photo in a chat and ask how it might look on you. The result is an AI-generated image, not a fitting-room measurement, so it cannot confirm fit or size.
How ChatGPT virtual try-on works
OpenAI describes the feature in its shopping help page and October 1, 2026 release notes. ChatGPT Images uses a selfie or a photo of an item to generate a preview of how clothing or an accessory could look on you. The documented feature is available in ChatGPT on mobile and web.
Start from a product listing
- Ask ChatGPT to find an item, or open a clothing or accessory listing that displays the Try on button.
- Select Try on, then take or upload a selfie when prompted.
- Review the generated image. The listing may also show product imagery, details, and a link to the merchant.
Start with an item photo
- Upload a picture of clothing or an accessory in a ChatGPT conversation.
- Ask ChatGPT to show how the item might look on you.
- Review the resulting image as a visual preview, not a confirmation of the item’s real appearance or fit.
Reference photos, favorites, and folders
OpenAI says a reference photo is saved for future try-ons. To manage it, go to Settings → Personalization → Reference photos, where you can change or remove the saved photo. You can save products to Favorites or organize them in folders in the ChatGPT Library.
What the preview can—and cannot—tell you
OpenAI cautions: “Try-on images may not represent the product or your appearance exactly and do not guarantee fit or size.” A generated image is not a measurement of your body or the garment, and it does not establish how an item will drape, feel, or fit in person.
