If Minecraft Dungeons II is lagging in multiplayer on PS5, first check whether the problem happens only online, then check for a game update and work through PlayStation’s basic connection checks. There is no verified game-specific fix established as of October 2, 2026, so these steps can help narrow down the issue but are not guaranteed to stop stutter or rubber-banding.
What is known about PS5 multiplayer lag
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026. Its PlayStation listing describes solo, couch co-op, online co-op and mixed co-op, with up to four online players; online play requires PlayStation Plus and is optional.
A player post titled “PS5 connection issues” on Minecraft Feedback, dated October 2, 2026, reports “Server lag with frame drops every 10 -15s missing inputs as well on PS5 Console.” A comment uses the term “rubber banding.” These are individual player descriptions, not an official diagnosis or evidence of how widespread the issue is. They do not establish that the cause is the internet connection rather than local stutter or another problem.
Troubleshoot the problem in order
1. Compare online play with solo play
If practical, play solo and compare the symptoms with an online session. An issue that appears only online is a reason to check connection and service conditions first, but it does not prove the network is responsible. If stutter or missed inputs also happen solo, do not treat the problem as confirmed internet lag.

2. Check for a game update
- On the PS5 home screen, highlight Minecraft Dungeons II.
- Press the controller’s options button and select Check for Update.
- Install an available update and test again. PlayStation also says games can update automatically when started; see its update instructions.
3. Check PSN and restart the console and router
Check PlayStation Network service status for a reported service issue. PlayStation’s general PS5 connection guidance also recommends restarting the console and router. For the router, PlayStation says to wait at least five minutes before restarting it.
4. Test your connection method
If you use Wi-Fi, try playing closer to the router and reduce obstacles between it and the console. If possible, test a wired connection with a LAN cable; the PS5 quick-start guide identifies a LAN cable as the wired connection method. PlayStation’s general advice is to use wired internet if possible, but this is a connection troubleshooting test—not a confirmed fix for Minecraft Dungeons II stutter or server lag.

5. Record what happens if the problem continues
Note whether the symptoms occur online only, whether you are on Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet, how often they happen and whether you see rubber-banding, frame stutter, or missed inputs. Also note whether the issue repeats across sessions or is limited to one session or group of players. These details help describe the problem; they are not a validated diagnostic procedure for this game. The available sources do not establish an official bug diagnosis or title-specific remedy, so avoid disruptive steps such as a factory reset or router port changes unless an applicable error code or official game guidance points to them.

| Comparison | What it may help you check | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Online multiplayer versus solo play | Whether the issue appears tied to online sessions. | That the network is necessarily the cause. |
| Wi-Fi versus wired Ethernet | Whether changing the connection method changes the symptoms. | That a wired connection will fix this game’s stutter or lag. |
| One session or friend group versus repeated sessions | Whether the issue is isolated or recurring in your experience. | How widespread the issue is among PS5 players. |
| Rubber-banding versus frame stutter or missed inputs | Which symptoms to include when reporting the problem. | A confirmed network, rendering, or controller diagnosis. |
PlayStation’s connection instructions are general PS5 support guidance, not Minecraft Dungeons II-specific troubleshooting. For example, its NW-102468-1 support page says, “If possible, connect to the Internet using a wired connection.” That advice supports trying Ethernet as a check, not promising that it will resolve these reported symptoms.
