Home Widget 1.10 adds a configurable Camera Mosaic that opens from a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, or from Control Center, so you can reach several cameras exposed through Apple Home in one step. “Fastest” is 9to5Mac’s description of the shorter route—not a measured comparison with the Home app or other camera viewers. The widget launches the mosaic; it does not itself show a continuous live camera feed.
What Home Widget 1.10 does
Home Widget is a companion control surface for accessories already set up in Apple Home, rather than a replacement for the Home app’s smart-home setup. Its configurable panels use tiles for accessories and sensors. The 9to5Mac report says users can choose a tile’s icon, name, color, and size, and that panels sync through iCloud. 9to5Mac’s October 2, 2026 coverage describes version 1.10 and its updates.
Open cameras from a widget or Control Center
Camera Mosaic provides a scrollable view of cameras available through Apple Home. You can configure it to include all cameras or a selected subset. A widget tap opens the mosaic; tapping a camera tile opens that camera’s view. The developer’s version 1.10 announcement also describes opening the mosaic or a selected camera from Control Center, and viewing and zooming in on a camera on iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
Other changes in 1.10 and 1.10.2
- Thermostat controls from widgets. The 9to5Mac report says version 1.10.2 added support for heating systems exposed to Apple Home as HeaterCooler; support still depends on how an accessory is exposed.
- Room-wide lighting actions to toggle, dim, or change the color of lights.
- Additional widget appearances: Clear, Tinted, Light, Dark, and Liquid Glass.
- Readings from Matter accessories that report multiple sensor measurements, plus expanded Apple Watch support.
- Search when adding accessories, sensors, scenes, or actions; compact labels, manual camera ordering, and the ability to select featured cameras are also described in the developer discussion.
Can a Home Widget widget show live camera video?
No—not as a continuous stream embedded in the widget. In the Reddit discussion, the developer says iOS does not allow that widget behavior, so tapping opens the mosaic or camera view. The developer also describes a camera widget as showing the latest still image rather than live video. These are the developer’s statements about platform behavior, not an independent platform test.

Keep the widget and the mosaic separate: the widget is the shortcut. A search result for the App Store listing reports that version 1.10.3 added optional live streams inside the mosaic, along with an Extra Large Portrait widget for iOS 27. The App Store page itself was not retrievable for confirmation, so check the current App Store listing for the available version and features. This reported mosaic option does not mean live video appears inside the widget.
Is the camera mosaic a better fit than opening Apple Home?

What to check before relying on it
- Make sure the cameras you want to view are already exposed in Apple Home; Home Widget does not replace their setup.
- Confirm the exact camera model and configuration support Apple Home if you are adding hardware. A product link in the coverage identifies eufyCam 2C as HomeKit compatible, but that alone does not establish compatibility for every version, region, or setup.
- Check that your installed app version includes the feature you want. In particular, optional live streams inside the mosaic are reported for 1.10.3, not established as a feature of the 1.10 widget itself.
- Expect device-specific differences. User reports in the developer discussion mention label length and thermostat behavior; the developer described changes in 1.10.2, but those reports do not establish universal accessory compatibility.
