The update also brings HEIC image support in chat, broader Notion page reading, and a browser-engine upgrade to Chromium M155. These details come from Dia’s official macOS release notes.
What Queue & Steering controls change
According to Dia’s release notes, you can queue multiple chat messages and steer Dia while it is responding, without cancelling tool calls that are already in progress. That means you can send follow-up instructions in sequence or adjust the direction of an active response without first stopping those calls. The release notes describe the behavior but do not provide independent test results or controlled performance measurements.
How tab switching changes
- Five tabs in the switcher: The tab switcher now displays five tabs rather than ten, reducing the number visible in that view.
- Pinned tabs in Tab Search: Pinned tabs now appear in Tab Search, giving you another way to find them.
- Revised recent-tabs layout: The recent-tabs switcher uses a layout Dia describes as familiar to Arc users.
- Simpler Tab Group icons: An option replaces emoji on automatically generated Tab Groups with simpler icons.
What the update adds to Loom, Notion, and chat
Loom tools
Dia adds automatic Loom search, transcript reading, and retrieval of recent activity. These are listed as browser capabilities in the release notes; they do not specify additional setup requirements.
Notion reading
Notion page reading is described as faster and more complete, including content in collapsed sections. Dia says enterprise restrictions remain respected, so the change is not described as bypassing an organization’s controls.

How v1.51.0 compares with the previous macOS release
Dia’s preceding macOS release, v1.50.0, was dated September 24, 2026. It included Figma tools, search across past chats and browsing history, and controls to stop and resume AI responses. Version 1.51.0’s headline chat change is instead queueing messages and steering a response without cancelling in-flight tool calls.
