Current secondary coverage names four GTA VI Criminal Profile states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho. They are best understood as reported descriptions of criminal behavior—not confirmed official “honor ranks” or a simple good-versus-evil meter. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson has said that consistently going beyond what is necessary may sway the profile, with possible effects on how the world reacts and how the narrative plays out. Rockstar’s official game page does not list the four states or explain the mechanic.
What are the reported GTA 6 Criminal Profile states?
Beebom’s October 2, 2026 explainer names four states, describing a progression from controlled criminal conduct to persistent, excessive violence. These labels and descriptions come from secondary coverage; Rockstar has not published a rank-by-rank specification on its official GTA VI page.
| Reported state | How secondary coverage describes it |
|---|---|
| Professional | Restrained, controlled criminal conduct, with less unnecessary escalation and fewer casualties. |
| Aggressive | Repeatedly using force when a less forceful option was available. |
| Violent | Routine excessive force and unnecessary destruction. |
| Psycho | Persistently chaotic, excessive violence. |
Those descriptions are not confirmed action-to-rank rules. The reviewed reporting does not establish points, thresholds, decay rates, a visible meter, or a guaranteed result for any single action. For that reason, “states” is more accurate than treating the names as official ranks.
What does the Criminal Profile appear to track?
In GamesRadar+’s August 27, 2026 interview report, Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson distinguishes carrying out what a mission requires—or responding to someone who starts trouble—from repeatedly escalating beyond what is needed. He said: “It’s when you go beyond what is necessary on a consistent basis, or you do completely unnecessary stuff consistently, that you may start to sway your criminal profile in a certain direction.”

Nelson also said consistent actions may affect “how the world reacts to you and how the narrative plays out,” as reported by GamesRadar+ and PC Gamer. That is a broad description of possible effects, not a published formula or a promise that a particular behavior changes a specific mission, ending, reward, or punishment.
Is it the same as Red Dead Redemption 2’s Honor system?
Not on the evidence currently available. Beebom characterizes GTA VI’s Criminal Profile as reflecting how professionally or recklessly the protagonists conduct crimes, whereas RDR2’s Honor is framed around moral alignment. The interview reporting supports an emphasis on repeated conduct and unnecessary escalation. The sources reviewed do not establish that GTA VI uses RDR2’s points or honor-bar structure, or that ordinary good deeds erase serious criminal behavior.

Are Jason and Lucia tracked separately?
Beebom reports separate profiles for Jason and Lucia and describes a “Shattered or Broken” state that may be irreversible during a playthrough. Those details are not stated on Rockstar’s official page or confirmed in the interview excerpts reviewed, so they should be treated as secondary claims rather than established mechanics.

Rockstar’s official GTA VI page describes Jason and Lucia becoming involved in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida and lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date. It does not name Criminal Profile states or describe how the system works. Nelson’s reported comments offer the clearest available explanation of the intended behavior-and-consequence idea, but not a full mechanics guide.
