Some Lenovo tablets have a removable-card slot, but support depends on the exact model and variant. The slot is usually for a microSD card—not a full-size SD card. Lenovo documents support up to 1TB on models including the Tab P12, Yoga Tab 11 and Tab P12 Pro, and up to 2TB on the Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 and Tab Plus Gen 2. Check your tablet’s model specification before buying a card.
Does your Lenovo tablet have a microSD slot?
“Lenovo tablet” covers multiple models and configurations, so there is no single answer that applies to every device. Find the exact model name or machine type, then check its Lenovo Product Specifications Reference (PSREF). Look for a listed microSD card slot and the supported capacity and filesystem.
Lenovo describes expandable microSD storage for the Tab P12 in its 2023 launch announcement. The tablet’s PSREF gives the more specific compatibility details: 128GB or 256GB of internal UFS storage, plus a microSD slot supporting up to 1TB with exFAT. Lenovo Tab P12 PSREF
Lenovo tablet models and documented card support
| Model | Card support in Lenovo specifications | Slot or variant detail |

| Tab P12 | Up to 1TB, exFAT | microSD card slot; internal storage listed as 128GB or 256GB. Lenovo PSREF (2024) |
| Yoga Tab 11 | FAT32 up to 512GB; exFAT up to 1TB | WLAN: microSD; WWAN: nano-SIM + microSD. Lenovo PSREF (2023) |
| Tab P12 Pro | FAT32 up to 512GB; exFAT up to 1TB | WWAN version uses a nano-SIM + microSD tray. Lenovo PSREF (2024) |
| Tab M11 | Maximum capacity and filesystem not stated in the cited specification | PSREF identifies a microSD reader and WLAN/WWAN slot differences. Lenovo PSREF (2023) |

How to check your model before buying a card
- Identify the precise tablet model and, if available, its machine type or model code. Similar names can refer to different configurations.
- Open the Lenovo PSREF for that model and locate the card-slot entry. Confirm whether it specifies a dedicated microSD slot or a combined nano-SIM + microSD tray.
- Check the maximum capacity and filesystem together. For example, Lenovo lists the Yoga Tab 11 as supporting FAT32 cards up to 512GB or exFAT cards up to 1TB.
- Choose a microSD card that fits those requirements. A full-size SD card does not fit directly in a microSD slot.
What removable storage can—and cannot—do
A microSD card is useful for storing files such as photos, videos, music and downloads, subject to the tablet and app’s support. Lenovo’s hardware specification confirms card compatibility; it does not guarantee that every Android app can be installed or moved to removable storage. If expanding space for apps is your main goal, verify the behavior of the specific app and Android version rather than assuming the card will act like internal storage.

- EXPAND YOUR STORAGE. Insert your card to add massive storage up to 1.5TB[1] to your Android smartphones and tablets, digital cameras, and laptops.
- SPACE FOR MORE. With expansive capacities up to 1.5TB[1], capture and store hours of Full HD video[4], movies, music, games, photos, and podcasts.
- MOVE FILES FAST. Use your card with the SANDISK QuickFlow microSD UHS-I Card USB-A Reader[6] to achieve up to 195MB/s[2] read speeds [128GB-1.5TB models] and offload your content fast.
- LOAD APPS IN A SNAP. Rated A1[3], the SANDISK Ultra microSD card is optimized for faster app launch and overall app performance.
- EASY CONTENT MANAGEMENT. Easily back up, organize, and transfer your photos and videos with the SANDISK Memory Zone desktop or Android mobile app[5].
Internal storage and card storage are separate figures. For instance, Lenovo lists the Tab P12 with 128GB or 256GB of internal UFS storage and separately documents microSD support up to 1TB. The supported card capacity does not change the tablet’s built-in storage specification.

If the PSREF for your exact model does not list a microSD slot, do not assume a card can be added. A USB-C storage device may be an alternative for transferring or accessing files if the tablet supports it, but that is different from an internal card slot and is not established by the model specifications above.
