Applications for a TechCrunch Founder Summit 2026 Side Event close at midnight Pacific Time on October 2, 2026—07:00 UTC on October 3. At the authoritative check at 22:31 UTC on October 2, about 7 hours and 29 minutes remained. Confirm the official application page immediately before submitting, because this deadline is expiring.

What the deadline means

TechCrunch Events’ October 2, 2026 announcement says, “Applications close today at midnight PT.” In 2026, October 2 is during Pacific Daylight Time, so the stated cutoff is October 3, 2026, at 07:00 UTC. The application was still open at the 22:31 UTC check, but its status can change after that point.

Applying is free. It does not guarantee acceptance or official listing. TechCrunch’s events team reviews applications, and approval is required before an event can appear as an official Side Event.

What you would be hosting

Founder Summit 2026 is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, at SoWa Power Station in Boston. The conference is aimed at founders at different company stages, investors and experienced entrepreneurs, with programming on fundraising, AI-native companies, leadership, hiring and growth.

Founder Summit Week runs November 1–7, 2026. A Side Event is a related, host-planned gathering that connects Summit attendees with Boston’s technology community. TechCrunch lists formats including:

Format Practical fit
Meetup or panel Conversation-led formats that generally require less food-and-beverage planning than a reception.
Workshop or fireside chat Useful when the goal is structured learning or a focused discussion; plan seating, facilitation and audiovisual needs.
Mixer, happy hour or cocktail hour Networking-oriented, but requires more attention to venue flow, catering, staffing and age checks.
Career showcase Best suited to recruiting or employer visibility; allow space and staffing for participating organizations.
Morning run Outdoor, schedule-sensitive programming that still needs registration, route planning and safety procedures.

Eligibility and scheduling rules

  • The event must be live and in person in Boston or the surrounding area; virtual events are not eligible.
  • TechCrunch prioritizes events held November 1–7, 2026.
  • On Wednesday, November 4, an event must start at 5:00 p.m. ET or later. The official FAQ says other dates have no stated time restriction.
  • Events are for people aged 18 and older. If alcohol is served, attendees must be 21 or older.
  • The host must enforce age limits and screen attendees before entry.
  • TechCrunch is prioritizing one event per host.

What the host pays for and manages

Inclusion in the Side Events lineup has no fee, but that is not a production budget. The host is responsible for the event’s concept, costs and execution. TechCrunch’s published description says the host must develop the idea, pay associated costs, promote the event, manage registrations and the event landing page or form, handle communications, and address operational and legal issues.

Budget items to resolve before applying

  • Boston-area venue and any required deposits
  • Food, beverages and bartending, including alcohol compliance
  • Audio, visual equipment, internet and event production
  • Staffing, check-in, security and age verification
  • Insurance, permits and other legal or safety requirements
  • Registration technology, attendee communications and promotional materials

Because the application materials do not publish a standard budget or required application fields, prepare a concise concept, proposed date and start time, venue plan, capacity, audience, operating team and compliance approach without assuming any unlisted requirement.

What approved hosts may receive

At TechCrunch’s discretion, an approved event may be promoted on the Side Events page, conference agenda, mobile-app agenda, shared attendee emails, Founder Summit articles or social channels. Placement in any particular channel is not guaranteed.

Hosts may also share a discount promo code for Founder Summit passes with their network and team. That code is an optional audience benefit, not a promise that TechCrunch will fund the Side Event or fill its registration.

Audience estimates and how to interpret them

TechCrunch’s official Side Events page describes an audience of 1,100+ founders and VCs. Its August 4, 2026 announcement refers to 1,100+ startup founders, investors and tech leaders. The October 2 last-call announcement instead says 1,000+ tech leaders are expected in Boston. These are differently worded, rounded estimates from separate announcements—not a guaranteed attendance figure for an individual Side Event.

Submit before the cutoff

  1. Open the official TechCrunch Founder Summit Side Events application page and confirm that submissions are still being accepted.
  2. Choose a qualifying Boston-area, in-person format and date. If selecting November 4, set the start time to 5:00 p.m. ET or later.
  3. Describe the audience, capacity, venue status, schedule and the people responsible for operations.
  4. State how you will handle registration, communications, age screening, alcohol service, staffing and legal or safety obligations.
  5. Submit before midnight PT on October 2, then retain the confirmation and monitor the contact details supplied in the application.

Do not advertise the gathering as an official TechCrunch Side Event until TechCrunch approves it. The organizer does not state when applicants will receive decisions, so avoid promising an acceptance date to prospective guests.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will TechCrunch announce whether my application was accepted?

The published Side Events information does not state a decision timeline. Treat the application as pending until TechCrunch confirms approval.

The Bottom Line

If you can meet the Boston-area, in-person and age requirements, submit before midnight PT on October 2, 2026 (07:00 UTC on October 3). Approval is selective, and every venue, staffing, promotion, registration and legal cost remains with the host.
