DataSite Orlando’s 2008 opening announcement described the first phase of a planned 130,000-square-foot data center—not a completed facility. The former AT&T site was being upgraded by Burges Property Company, with tenant installations expected to begin in September 2008. Later reports tracked its first tenant and a major power-and-cooling upgrade; CoreSite now identifies the same address as its OR1 facility.
What DataSite announced in August 2008
On August 4, 2008, DataCenterKnowledge reported that DataSite Orlando would open the first phase of a purpose-built, 130,000-square-foot data center in a former AT&T facility in Orlando, Florida. Burges Property Company owned the site and was investing more than $26 million in upgrades. Total Site Solutions (TSS) was hired to perform the work and later provide facility maintenance.
The original report said TSS expected to complete the first phase of mechanical and electrical infrastructure by the end of August, with tenant installations planned to begin in September. Those were announced milestones and expectations, not confirmation that all construction was complete on August 4. Read the August 2008 report.
DataSite’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Rob Wilson, framed the project as a regional asset, saying, “Data center space is very scarce in Central Florida, and the size of this facility makes it a unique asset for our community.” That was a company representative’s assessment, not an independently measured market finding.

First tenant and later facility specifications
Infinitum Technologies became the first tenant
On February 6, 2009, DataCenterKnowledge reported that Infinitum Technologies had signed the site’s first tenant agreement: a five-year lease for 15 racks. The report said the facility offered up to 85,000 square feet of raised-floor technical space. See the 2009 tenant report.
A 2014 power and cooling upgrade
In an August 7, 2014 announcement, DataSite said it and TSS had completed a $12 million power and cooling upgrade. The company described the facility as a single-story, 130,000-square-foot building with 85,000 square feet of 36-inch raised floor. It reported 6.25 MW of total UPS capacity, a 13.4 MW standby power plant, 12 MW of utility service capacity, and 2,300 tons of total system cooling capacity. The announcement also described 2N electrical support infrastructure and an A/B header system.

CoreSite identifies its OR1 facility at 9701 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida, as the legacy DataSite site. CoreSite currently markets colocation, interconnection, and cloud connectivity there and lists more than 129,000 square feet. That current published figure is distinct from the 130,000-square-foot figure used in the 2008 announcement and does not, by itself, establish a change in the facility’s measured area.
