On November 8, 2011, three cloud-related announcements covered different parts of enterprise IT: PEER 1 Hosting launched its Zunicore public cloud division; CA Technologies and iTRACS announced plans to integrate data-center infrastructure management software; and Cirracore joined Telx Cloud Xchange to reach colocation customers. These are historical announcements, not evidence that the named services or partnerships are available today.
PEER 1 launched its Zunicore public cloud
PEER 1 Hosting announced Zunicore as a public cloud division built on the company’s own infrastructure and network. The November 8, 2011 report said the service was available immediately at that time and operated across three geographically dispersed PEER 1 data centers. Those details describe the 2011 launch; they do not establish present-day availability or network coverage. DataCenterKnowledge’s announcement described the offer as including:
- Customizable pools of computing resources and hands-free automatic scaling.
- Persistent storage on a storage area network (SAN).
- User-defined resource thresholds and transparent pricing.
- Availability across three PEER 1 data centers.
Douglas Cebik, then Sorenson Media’s director of business development, said the configurable pools helped his company match resources to video-encoding presets and priorities. That was a customer’s description of why the service suited its needs, not an independent performance assessment.
CA Technologies and iTRACS planned a DCIM integration
CA Technologies and iTRACS Corporation announced plans to develop solutions for managing data-center power, space and cooling. The proposed combination paired CA ecoSoftware with iTRACS Converged Physical Infrastructure Management (CPIM), with the aim of helping customers manage relationships among physical assets, space, time, power, connectivity and operational processes.

The companies said they planned to demonstrate the integration at CA World in Las Vegas, scheduled for November 13–16, 2011. The report describes a planned integration and demonstration; it does not confirm what was ultimately delivered or whether the partnership continues. iTRACS president and CEO Elizabeth Given characterized the intended benefit as a more holistic view of enterprise infrastructure to support management and optimization decisions. That statement represents the company’s view of the planned solution.
Cirracore joined Telx Cloud Xchange
Cirracore’s participation in Telx Cloud Xchange was intended to give Telx colocation customers in Atlanta direct, dedicated access to Cirracloud. The contemporaneous report described Cirracloud as a vendor-neutral, customized hosted cloud solution based on VMware architecture, emphasizing uptime, performance, security, control and flexibility. These were the offering’s stated attributes, not independently verified service measurements.

Cirracore CEO Fred Tanzella said the arrangement could help the company expand in markets with demand while containing costs, and cited Telx’s Atlanta Cloud Connection Center and interconnection capabilities as part of the rationale. A same-day DatacenterDynamics roundup also reported the deal and described Telx’s route to market as spanning facilities in nine US cities. That historical city count is not a current footprint figure.

| Announcement | Type | Technical proposition reported in 2011 | Geography stated |
|---|---|---|---|
| PEER 1 / Zunicore | Public cloud launch | Custom resource pools, automatic scaling, persistent SAN storage and resource thresholds | Three PEER 1 data centers |
| CA Technologies / iTRACS | Planned DCIM software integration | Pair CA ecoSoftware with iTRACS CPIM to address infrastructure, power, space and cooling management | Demonstration planned for CA World in Las Vegas |
| Cirracore / Telx | Hosted-cloud and colocation relationship | Telx customers could access Cirracloud through dedicated interconnection | Atlanta in the central report; nine US cities in DatacenterDynamics’ broader account of Telx’s reach |
The announcements covered distinct layers rather than competing consumer products: cloud capacity, software for managing physical data-center infrastructure, and a colocation/interconnection route to a hosted cloud. The two contemporaneous trade-press reports corroborate the broad Zunicore and Cirracore–Telx developments, but neither establishes whether any named service or relationship exists today.
