Swimlane announced a $45 million growth-funding round on June 10, 2025. Energy Impact Partners and Activate Capital led the round, with Trinity Capital participating. Swimlane said it would use the money for product innovation and global channel expansion. SecurityWeek reported that the financing brought Swimlane’s cumulative capital raised to $215 million.
Who invested in Swimlane’s $45 million round?
Energy Impact Partners and Activate Capital led the financing, and Trinity Capital participated. Swimlane described the transaction as growth funding rather than a new product launch or acquisition announcement.
The announcement identified the participating investment executives as Sameer Reddy, managing partner at Energy Impact Partners; David Lincoln, co-founder and managing partner at Activate Capital; and Ryan Thompson, managing director for Tech Lending at Trinity Capital.
Why did Swimlane raise the money?
Swimlane said the proceeds would support two priorities:
Recommended Free Tools
- Product innovation: continued development of its security-automation software, including its Turbine platform and related AI capabilities.
- Global channel expansion: broader work with the partners that sell, implement or operate security technology for customers worldwide.
The company said 75% of its business came through channel partners. That is a company-reported figure and includes managed security service providers (MSSPs), value-added distributors, resellers and global integrators.
What Swimlane reported about growth and customers
In the June 2025 announcement, Swimlane reported that it had grown by more than 110% since its previous funding round. It also said it served more than 50 Global 1,000 companies and 26 U.S. federal agencies.
Rank #2
These growth, customer-count and channel-share figures came from Swimlane and were not presented as independently audited measurements. They should be read as the company’s description of its business at the time of the announcement.

What does Swimlane’s security automation platform do?
Swimlane sells enterprise security-automation software. Its current product materials describe Turbine as a low-code platform that brings together playbooks, integrations, case management and dashboards for security operations teams.
Rank #3
Automation workflows and integrations
Turbine is designed to let security teams build and run automated workflows across their security tools. Cisco’s technical-alliance documentation specifically describes integration with Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense. That example confirms a connection to at least one named security product; it does not establish that every available integration has the same setup effort or feature depth.
AI-assisted and agentic functions
Swimlane’s materials also describe AI-assisted or agentic security-operations functions. The company describes Hero as an agentic AI companion integrated with Turbine. These are vendor-described capabilities; the available sources do not independently test their accuracy, speed, reliability or comparative performance.
Where the platform fits
The platform is aimed at enterprise security operations and organizations that need repeatable responses across many tools, teams and cases. Its channel model also points to deployments supported by MSSPs, distributors, resellers and systems integrators rather than only direct self-service adoption.
What did Swimlane say about profitability?
Swimlane said in June 2025 that it was on track to achieve profitability in the third quarter of 2025. That was a forward-looking statement by the company. The sources available for this article do not confirm whether the target was achieved, so it should not be treated as a reported financial result.

What the funding signals for security teams
The round gives Swimlane additional capital to expand both the software and the partner network around it. For a prospective customer, the practical questions remain deployment-specific:
- Does the platform support the organization’s existing security stack and required integrations?
- Can automated actions include appropriate approvals, human review and audit trails?
- What controls are available for data residency, access, model behavior and change management?
- How much implementation work will be required from the internal team or a channel partner?
- What are the recurring licensing, integration and operating costs at the intended scale?
The funding announcement does not provide enough evidence to rank Swimlane against competing security-operations platforms on those criteria.
What Swimlane’s CEO said
Swimlane CEO James Brear said: “We have redefined what’s possible in security operations by combining agentic AI with unmatched experience in highly scalable automation use cases that help customers solve real problems both in and outside the SOC.” The language about being “unmatched” and redefining what is possible is the executive’s promotional characterization, not an independently established comparison.
Bottom line on the $45 million round
Swimlane’s June 10, 2025 financing was led by Energy Impact Partners and Activate Capital, with Trinity Capital participating. The company said it would invest the proceeds in product development and worldwide channel expansion. SecurityWeek put total capital raised at $215 million after the round, while Swimlane’s customer, growth and channel figures remain company-reported. The announcement provides a clear view of strategic priorities, but not independent proof of product performance or confirmation of its projected Q3 2025 profitability.
