On a Windows or Linux desktop, press Ctrl+Shift+S in Brave; on a Mac, press Cmd+Shift+S. That opens Brave’s screenshot feature for the visible page or a selected area. To capture a long page from top to bottom, use the full-size screenshot command in Chromium DevTools instead. Take a screenshot of the visible page in desktop Brave
Brave’s built-in screenshot shortcut is the quickest option when you need what is on screen now, or a selected part of it. A Brave Community staff reply by Mattches confirms that the feature is available and gives the desktop shortcuts: “You can use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux and Cmd+Shift+S on macOS to take a screenshot in Brave.”
- Bring the Brave window and the page you want to capture to the foreground.
- On Windows or Linux, press Ctrl+Shift+S. On macOS, press Cmd+Shift+S.
- Use the controls shown by your installed Brave version to choose the capture area and save or copy the result, if those options are offered.
The shortcut opens the browser’s screenshot feature; it does not mean that every release has identical dialog labels or save behavior. Those details are version-sensitive, so follow the controls visible in your own Brave window.
What this shortcut captures
Use the ordinary screenshot feature for the area currently visible in the tab or a selected region. It is not the same as a full-page capture: a page that continues below the bottom of the window may not be included. If you need content farther down the page, choose the DevTools workflow below.

Capture a full webpage in desktop Brave
For a long page, Brave Community guidance describes a Chromium DevTools workaround. It uses the DevTools command menu to run a full-size screenshot command. This route is more technical than the regular shortcut, and its exact command wording or availability can vary by release.
- Open the page you want to capture in Brave.
- Open DevTools. F12 is one possible shortcut where supported; otherwise use the method available in your Brave version.
- With DevTools open, press Ctrl+Shift+P to open its command menu.
- Search for screenshot commands, then select the full-size or full-page capture option shown in the menu.
- Follow the prompt or browser behavior for the selected command to retrieve the capture.
Do not confuse the DevTools command-menu shortcut with Brave’s ordinary screenshot shortcut: the former opens DevTools’ command menu, while the latter opens Brave’s screenshot feature. A Brave Community discussion describes the DevTools route; a later community request also distinguishes it from the built-in visible-area screenshot tool. The full-page route is a community-documented workaround, not a guarantee that every Brave release displays precisely the same command or menu.

A device screenshot should not be treated as proof that Brave can capture a complete long webpage on mobile. If you need a scrolling or long capture, check current platform-specific Brave support guidance for your device before relying on a particular in-app option or workflow.

The built-in shortcut and DevTools route are useful for a person capturing a page in an open browser. If your task is to capture websites from code, run repeat captures, or connect screenshots to an AI agent, that is a different workflow from taking a local screenshot in Brave.

Troubleshoot a Brave screenshot
The shortcut does not open the screenshot feature
- Check that Brave is the foreground application and press the shortcut for your operating system: Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Cmd+Shift+S on macOS.
- If another application or system-level shortcut responds instead, use the on-screen screenshot option available in your Brave version, if present. The exact dialog labels and controls are not consistent across the evidence available here.
- If the shortcut still does nothing, check Brave’s current support guidance for your installed release rather than assuming the feature has been removed or that a particular menu label is universal.
The capture stops at the bottom of the window
The ordinary screenshot feature is intended for the visible area or a selected region; it is not a dependable full-page method. Open DevTools, press Ctrl+Shift+P, and search for the full-size screenshot command. If that command is absent or named differently, the available menu may differ in your Brave release.

You cannot find the full-size screenshot command
Confirm that DevTools is open before pressing Ctrl+Shift+P; that shortcut opens the DevTools command menu, not Brave’s standard screenshot UI. Search for screenshot-related commands and inspect the choices offered in that version. Community guidance describes this workaround but does not establish a fixed label for every release.
You are using Brave on a phone
The desktop shortcuts and DevTools directions above are desktop instructions. Use your device’s own screenshot controls for a basic screen capture. Is the DevTools full-size command an official Brave support procedure?

Can I use a Brave screenshot shortcut for a page I have not opened?
No. The browser workflows in this guide capture a page displayed in a Brave tab. A URL-to-image API is a separate option for capturing a website from code.
