To check a website’s privacy practices, enter its URL in ImmuniWeb’s free, browser-based Website Privacy Test. The service lists checks for privacy policies, third-party content, tracking cookies, XHR requests, tracking pixels, and web forms, then offers a PDF report. Treat its findings as technical signals to investigate—not as a legal opinion, complete audit, or proof that a site complies with privacy law.

How to run the free website privacy test

  1. Open ImmuniWeb’s Website Privacy Test.
  2. Enter the website’s URL in the test form and submit it.
  3. Review the results and use the available PDF report to keep or share the findings.

The service is browser-based and free to use, according to its current test page. The page does not establish that the scan covers every subdomain, page, or site component, so do not assume that one URL represents an entire organization’s online footprint.

What the current test says it checks

The current product page lists these areas:

  • Privacy policies
  • Third-party content
  • Tracking cookies
  • XHR requests
  • Tracking pixels
  • Web forms

These are technical and content signals that may help identify questions for a site owner or privacy professional. They do not, by themselves, establish whether a particular data practice is lawful in a specific jurisdiction.

What the 2024 announcement added

In an announcement dated April 24, 2024, ImmuniWeb described a broader set of checks that also included cookie consent banners, other privacy-invasive technologies, HTTPS encryption, and exposed personal data. Those are announcement-era claims; the current test page’s listed checks are the more direct guide to what the service presently advertises. See the April 24, 2024 announcement.

How to interpret the report

ImmuniWeb says its checks address specific requirements found in many modern privacy, data-protection, and consumer-protection laws in the US, UK, Europe, and other regions. That describes the vendor’s stated intended coverage; it does not mean the test evaluates every legal obligation across those jurisdictions.

The test page says the service is provided “as is” and without warranty. A scan can reveal items worth checking, but a favorable result is not certification or proof of compliance. Legal obligations can depend on the organization, the data involved, how it is used, where users are located, and processes that a website scan may not assess.

In the 2024 announcement, ImmuniWeb CEO and chief architect Dr. Ilia Kolochenko called the test “foundational” and described a separate company compliance service as providing technical and legal certainty to customers. That is the company’s characterization of its own offering, not an independent finding about the service or a guarantee of legal outcomes.

When a free scan is not enough

A URL scan is a starting point for spotting technical signals, not a substitute for reviewing an organization’s full privacy program. If you are assessing a business site, check whether any broader assessment you consider covers:

  • Subdomains and the site components that matter to your organization
  • Repeat monitoring rather than a single scan
  • Detailed findings and practical remediation guidance
  • Organizational and legal obligations in addition to technical signals
  • Review by a qualified legal professional when legal advice is needed

The current test page does not establish that the free service includes all of these capabilities. Use the report to guide follow-up questions, and seek qualified legal advice for decisions about legal compliance.
