PowerA’s OVERPOWERED Series is its OPS range of two wireless controllers for Windows PC and cloud gaming: the $49.99 OPS v1 Wireless Controller and the $99.99 OPS v3 Pro Wireless Controller. Both offer Hall Effect sensing, 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB-C connectivity, but the v3 Pro adds mechanical switches, more remappable controls, adjustable thumbsticks, RGB lighting, a larger battery and a charging stand.
What PowerA launched under OVERPOWERED
PowerA announced the OVERPOWERED Series on August 19, 2024, with two models aimed at different types of PC and cloud players:
- OPS v1 Wireless Controller: the everyday, lower-cost option for casual and entry-level players.
- OPS v3 Pro Wireless Controller: the flagship for enthusiasts who want pro-style controls and extensive customization.
Preorders opened on August 19, 2024, with shipping scheduled to begin in late September 2024. PowerA announced a two-year limited warranty for both controllers.

OPS v1: features and best use case
Hall Effect controls and flexible connections
The OPS v1 uses Hall Effect sensors for its thumbsticks and triggers, avoiding the conventional contact-based sensing used in many standard analog controls. It can connect through the included low-latency 2.4GHz adapter, Bluetooth or a wired USB-C connection. That makes it suitable for a desk PC setup, compatible cloud-gaming devices and compatible Android mobile devices.
Customization for the price
Four Advanced Gaming Buttons can be customized, and a programmable Turbo Button provides an additional control option. Three-way trigger locks let players shorten trigger travel for games that benefit from faster inputs or leave the triggers at full travel for analog control. Dual rumble motors and removable analog caps are also included.

Battery and software support
PowerA rates the 550mAh rechargeable battery for up to 20 hours. The controller works with PowerA’s PC HQ App for testing and calibration. The app support is particularly useful when checking button inputs or adjusting stick behavior on a Windows PC.
OPS v3 Pro: what the extra $50 adds
Mechanical switches throughout the main controls
The v3 Pro uses tactile mechanical switches in the D-pad, ABXY buttons and shoulder buttons. These are intended to provide a more click-focused, responsive feel than conventional membrane-style controls, although personal preference determines whether that feel is an advantage.

More remapping and adjustable sticks
Six Advanced Gaming Buttons provide two more mappable controls than the v1. Its Quick-Twist thumbsticks have three adjustable height positions, allowing players to change leverage and travel without replacing the controller. Three-way trigger locks are retained for rapid or full-range trigger inputs.
RGB, battery and charging stand
Lumectra multi-zone RGB lighting supplies configurable illumination. The 1200mAh rechargeable battery is rated for up to 30 hours by PowerA, and the package includes a charging stand. The larger capacity and stand make the v3 Pro better suited to players who keep a controller permanently at a gaming desk, but the 30-hour figure remains a manufacturer claim rather than a universal runtime.
