TEAMGROUP announced the T-CREATE EXPERT P32 on November 15, 2024. It is a desktop external SSD available in 8TB and 16TB capacities, with rated sequential read and write speeds of up to 1,700 MB/s and 1,800 MB/s, respectively. Unlike a portable SSD that draws power from its USB connection, the P32 requires a separate 12V power input.
What is the T-CREATE EXPERT P32?
The P32 is a high-capacity external SSD designed for desktop use, including creator workflows and large media libraries. TEAMGROUP lists an aluminum-alloy enclosure and a patented graphene heat-dissipation pad. Its dimensions are 110 × 65 × 26 mm, and its weight is 261 g. Those figures apply to the product specifications accessed in 2026.
TEAMGROUP lists Windows 7 or later, macOS 10.5 or later, and Linux 2.6 or later as supported operating systems. The listed models are TPSEG6008T0C335 for 8TB and TPSEG6016T0C335 for 16TB.

TEAMGROUP also estimates storage for 336 minutes of 4K 120fps N-RAW footage on the 8TB model and 672 minutes on the 16TB model. These are vendor-provided estimates, not a promise of the recording time for every camera, codec, or workflow.

How fast is it, and will it work with Thunderbolt?
The P32 uses a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C interface. Its maximum rated sequential speed depends on capacity: up to 1,700 MB/s read and write for 8TB, or up to 1,800 MB/s read and write for 16TB. These are manufacturer ratings, not independent benchmark results.
A Thunderbolt port can connect to the P32, but TEAMGROUP says the drive automatically falls back to USB 3.2 Gen2x1 specifications because of protocol differences. A Thunderbolt connection therefore does not deliver the P32’s USB 3.2 Gen2x2 rated performance.

Does the P32 need its own power adapter?
Yes. TEAMGROUP specifies a DC 12V/2A input, so the P32 is a powered desktop drive rather than a bus-powered portable SSD. The included accessories listed by TEAMGROUP include a power cable and international plug adapters. Confirm that the plug adapter supplied with a particular regional package suits your outlet.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should consider the P32?
The combination of 8TB or 16TB capacity and high rated sequential speeds may suit users who want a large external workspace or a destination for video and other media backups. Its desktop power requirement means it is less convenient for travel or use where an outlet is unavailable. For backup, remember that one external drive is not a substitute for maintaining another independent copy of important files.
