Gigamon Insights is an agentic-AI application announced on September 9, 2025. It uses network-derived telemetry from Gigamon’s Deep Observability Pipeline to answer security and IT questions, suggest actions, and place that guidance in tools teams already use. Its initial integrations were Elastic Security, Splunk and AWS services.

What Gigamon Insights is

Insights is designed for security operations and IT operations rather than as a general-purpose chatbot. It combines network packets, flows and related telemetry with Gigamon’s Application Metadata Intelligence (AMI), which adds application-level context. Analysts can use predefined prompts or ask free-form questions, then receive context-rich findings and recommended next steps.

The application is part of the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline. Gigamon also describes support for private or bring-your-own large language models (LLMs), giving organizations an option to keep model processing under their own privacy and control requirements instead of relying only on a vendor-hosted model.

How the agentic workflow uses network telemetry

  1. Collect: Gigamon’s pipeline supplies network-derived telemetry, including packets and flows.
  2. Enrich: AMI adds application context so an event can be interpreted in terms of the application, service or workload involved.
  3. Query: An analyst selects a prompt or writes a question in natural language.
  4. Reason and recommend: Insights correlates the available context and returns an explanation with suggested actions.
  5. Work in the existing tool: The launch positioning puts the guidance inside security, observability and cloud workflows rather than requiring a separate investigation console.

This approach is intended to reduce the manual work of searching dashboards and joining disconnected data sources. It does not, by itself, establish that every recommendation is correct or that an action is automatically executed; teams still need to validate findings against their policies and operational evidence.

Launch integrations and what each is for

Integration Stated purpose What to verify
Elastic Security Enrich investigations with network telemetry and accelerate threat detection. Connector scope, supported Elastic versions and the actions available in your deployment.
Splunk Combine network telemetry with AI to speed investigations and turn data into answers faster. Data-model requirements, licensing and whether recommendations can be operationalized in existing playbooks.
AWS services Help identify cloud-security posture, performance and compliance risks. Supported AWS services, account architecture, regions and the permissions required.

Gigamon’s September 9, 2025 launch blog described Insights as available in preview at Visualyze Bootcamp, with general availability and more partner integrations planned later in 2025. Because that statement is time-bound, confirm the current release status, supported editions and regional availability with Gigamon before planning a production rollout.

Security and IT use cases

Threat detection and investigation

Gigamon presents Insights as a way to surface advanced activity such as command-and-control communications and lateral movement. Network context can help an analyst examine which applications and services were involved, then prioritize an investigation in Elastic Security or Splunk.

Performance troubleshooting

Teams can ask questions about application or network behavior instead of manually correlating multiple dashboards. The expected benefit is faster isolation of problems across hybrid-cloud infrastructure; actual results depend on telemetry coverage, metadata quality and the tools connected to the pipeline.

  • EFFECTIVE PROTECTION: Employs advanced filtering technologies to safeguard against sophisticated threats.

Compliance and cryptographic hygiene

Launch materials cite checks for risks including expired certificates and weak encryption. These findings should be treated as investigation leads until the relevant asset inventory, certificate authority and policy records confirm the issue.

Zero Trust validation

Network-derived evidence can be used to check whether observed communications match intended Zero Trust policies. This can reveal unexpected paths or services, but policy validation still requires the organization’s approved identities, segmentation rules and exception process.

Reducing analyst workload and MTTR

By translating telemetry into answers and recommended actions, Gigamon targets lower analyst effort and mean time to resolution. The launch materials do not provide an independent benchmark showing how much MTTR improves.

Why Gigamon is emphasizing agentic AI now

Gigamon’s 2025 survey of more than 1,000 Security and IT professionals in Australia, France, Germany, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States reported several pressures:

  • 53% said attacks targeting their organization’s LLM deployments had increased.
  • One in three said network traffic had more than doubled because of AI workloads.
  • 91% said they were making trade-offs or recalibrating hybrid-cloud risk in the AI era.
  • 55% said their tools were ineffective or failing to detect modern threats, including AI-related threats.

These are vendor-survey results from 2025, not independent tests of Gigamon Insights. No independent performance benchmark or customer outcome was identified for the product.

Where Insights fits in Gigamon’s AI portfolio

Gigamon positions Insights alongside several other AI capabilities:

Rank #4
Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra (UCG-Ultra)
  • Runs UniFi Network for full-stack network management
  • Manages 30+ UniFi Network devices and 300+ clients
  • 1 Gbps routing with IDS/IPS
  • Multi-WAN load balancing

  • AI Traffic Intelligence: identifies and classifies GenAI and LLM traffic.
  • GigaVUE-FM Copilot: assists with Fabric Manager deployment and operations.
  • Tech Docs AI Assistant: helps users work with Gigamon technical documentation.

These capabilities address different jobs. Insights focuses on answering operational questions from network-derived telemetry and returning guidance through security, observability and cloud workflows.

Questions to ask before adopting it

  • Which packets, flows and application metadata are available for the environments you need to investigate?
  • Can your organization use a private or bring-your-own LLM, and where is each model hosted?
  • Which Elastic, Splunk and AWS versions, regions and permissions are supported?
  • Are recommendations advisory only, or can they trigger approved response workflows?
  • How will you measure detection coverage, investigation time, false positives and MTTR?
  • What is the current availability status beyond the preview described at launch?

The Bottom Line

Gigamon Insights applies agentic AI to network telemetry enriched with application context, aiming to help security and IT teams detect threats, troubleshoot performance and find compliance or Zero Trust issues inside Elastic, Splunk and AWS workflows. Its architecture and private-LLM option are notable, but availability and real-world effectiveness should be validated directly because the launch evidence is vendor-provided and the initial release statement was preview-oriented.
