Taiwan Innotech Expo 2025 presented “Smart Tech Island” as a cross-domain AI story: applying technology across industry, daily life and government. Held October 16–18, 2025, at Hall 1 of Taipei World Trade Center in Taipei, the expo brought together examples ranging from a smartphone display accessory to elder-care monitoring and emergency data systems. The exhibits show the breadth of the pitch; they do not, by themselves, establish independent proof of each company’s performance claims.
What was Taiwan Innotech Expo 2025?
Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE) is a technology exhibition. In its October 9, 2025 announcement, the organizer framed the 2025 event around “AI Cross-Domain Innovation, Driving the Smart Future” and named three pavilions: Innovation Economy, Future Tech and Sustainability. The event was co-hosted by 11 government agencies, including the Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Science and Technology Council, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Digital Affairs, National Development Council and Academia Sinica. The organizer’s event announcement described AI applications as nearly half of the exhibits and listed a Global Technology Matchmaking Event and IP Consultation Service among the program offerings.
Those details describe the organizer’s announced focus and program, not an independent assessment of the event’s impact. EE Times Taiwan’s October 29 event report separately said AI-related solutions accounted for nearly half of exhibits across the three pavilions. It also reported 437 organizations, 1,073 innovations and exhibitors from 19 countries. EE Times’ event coverage does not establish that these figures were independently audited.
What does “Smart Tech Island” mean?
“Smart Tech Island” is best understood here as an event-level framing for Taiwan’s use of AI across different parts of society, rather than the name of one product or a measured national ranking. EE Times described the National Development Council-led Smart Innovation Zone in the Sustainability Pavilion as organizing the story around three domains: AI for Every Industry, Smart Living for All, and Smart Government & Data Governance. The report said the National Development Council jointly organized the pavilion for the first time, with zones for Smart Innovation, Resilience Enablement and Circular Sustainability.

Everyday displays: Optiqb qbarmour
Optiqb’s qbarmour combines AI algorithms with an optical micro-structure film and a dedicated app. EE Times reported that it is designed to transform a smartphone or tablet display from 2D to glasses-free 3D. Optiqb CEO Lin, Yuh-Jye described the concept this way: “3D technology never disappeared — it was waiting for AI to make it more natural and accessible.” That is the company’s perspective, not an independent assessment of display quality or performance.
Sports training: Keep Tossing Lab b4-app
Keep Tossing Lab’s b4-app uses AI image recognition and aerodynamics for baseball training. According to EE Times’ report of the company’s description, it analyzes batting motion and related measures to support training. Co-founder Nicolas Tsao said: “AI doesn’t replace the coach—it gives the coach an extra pair of eyes.” The report does not provide independent evidence of training outcomes.

Elder care: Ahoku Electronics ant CareSpot
Ahoku Electronics presented ant CareSpot as a multi-sensor system for monitoring routines and environmental anomalies. EE Times reported the company’s claim that the system does not record video or audio and instead uses edge computing and de-identified analytics. International Sales Representative Tseng, Hsiang-Chin said: “AI observes behavior, not people.” These are vendor-reported descriptions; the event coverage does not establish an independent privacy audit.
Enterprise software: Data-DI AltaBots.ai
Data-DI showed AltaBots.ai, which EE Times described as a no-code agent platform that integrates language models with internal systems such as ERP, CRM and document databases. The report also recounted company statements about use cases, templates, certification and deployment. It did not independently validate those claims or report comparable results across customers.

| Figure | What it counts and who reported it |
|---|---|
| 437 organizations; 1,073 innovations; exhibitors from 19 countries | EE Times Taiwan’s 2025 event report. The figures are not identified as independently audited. |
| 422 exhibitors; more than 50,000 visitors from 65 countries | The organizer’s November 5, 2025 post-event release listing. These are organizer-reported totals, not identified as independently audited. Read the post-event release. |
Organizations are not the same measure as exhibitors, and innovations are not visitors. The sources do not explain a common counting method that would make the two sets of figures directly comparable.
What the expo demonstrates—and what it does not
TIE 2025’s examples make the “cross-domain” idea concrete: AI was presented not just as enterprise software, but as a layer applied to displays, sports practice, care settings and public-sector data. The organizer’s framing and EE Times’ reporting show how the expo grouped these applications and what companies said their systems do.
They do not establish that every exhibit delivered its claimed result in independent testing, that privacy protections were externally audited, or that reported deployments produced measurable public benefits. Those distinctions matter when reading an exhibition as a snapshot of technology and ambition, rather than as a comparative product review.
