What is the TUXEDO Gemini 17 Gen4?
It is a large-format notebook designed to combine high-end CPU and graphics options with Linux support and desktop-style connectivity. TUXEDO positions it for work and play, including gaming, 3D rendering, and multimedia applications. Its size and weight make it better understood as a portable desktop replacement than an ultraportable.
TUXEDO announced the Intel configuration on December 5, 2025, with preorders and shipping scheduled to begin at the end of December. The AMD announcement described preorder shipping beginning at the end of March. The AMD base price refers to a Ryzen 9 9955HX, RTX 5060, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and TUXEDO OS. The Intel announcement’s base configuration comprises a Core i9-14900HX, RTX 5070 Ti, 16 GB RAM, a 1 TB Western Digital Black SSD, and TUXEDO OS. These are launch-announcement prices, not guaranteed current quotes. Selecting different RAM, storage, graphics, or operating-system options, along with taxes and shipping, changes the final cost.
Display for gaming and creative work
The AMD product page specifies a 17.3-inch display with 2560 × 1440 resolution, a 240 Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. That combination provides a high-refresh panel and a stated wide-gamut color specification, making it relevant to gaming and color-sensitive creative work. These specifications alone do not establish color accuracy in real use or performance in a particular application.

Memory, storage, and external displays
Upgrade capacity
The Intel variant supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, while the AMD variant supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600. Both configurations are listed with two M.2 SSD slots and up to 8 TB of combined storage. The maximums are platform specifications; the final installed capacity depends on the configuration selected.
Ports and monitor connections
The listed connections include two USB-C ports with DisplayPort, HDMI 2.1, two USB-A ports, RJ45 LAN, and a 2-in-1 audio jack. TUXEDO says the system can drive up to three external high-resolution monitors; used alongside the laptop’s built-in display, that allows four screens at once. USB-C charging is listed at up to 100 W.

For a multi-monitor desk, confirm that your chosen displays and cables match the laptop’s video outputs and that any dock supports your required resolution and refresh rates. The available specifications do not establish a particular dock’s compatibility or performance under Linux.
Linux support and operating-system options
TUXEDO lists TUXEDO OS and Ubuntu 24.04 among the supported Linux choices, and Windows 11 is also available. The company says its notebooks ship with preinstalled drivers, in-house software for hardware functionality, and support from staff trained in Linux. Check the configuration page for the operating systems offered with the specific model you intend to order.

Size, battery, and portability
The AMD product page lists a 73 Wh battery, dimensions of approximately 39.7 × 26.5 × 2.9 cm, and a weight of 2.8 kg. Those figures, together with the 17.3-inch chassis, point to a system suited to desk use and occasional carrying rather than all-day travel. No independently measured battery-runtime figure is established, so actual time away from an outlet should not be inferred from battery capacity alone.

Which Gemini 17 Gen4 configuration makes sense?
- Choose the Intel configuration if the announced RTX 5070 Ti configuration matches your graphics needs and 96 GB of maximum memory is sufficient.
- Consider AMD if you want the option of up to 128 GB RAM or prefer to choose between its RTX 5060 base graphics and listed RTX 5070 upgrade.
- Compare complete order totals, not just starting prices: the two published base configurations have different graphics hardware, and taxes, shipping, and upgrades affect the checkout price.
