The Transcend ETD210T is a 2.5-inch enterprise solid-state drive for read-intensive servers, data-center storage, virtualization, web serving and media streaming. It uses a SATA III 6Gb/s interface, enterprise TLC (eTLC) NAND, embedded DRAM and power-loss protection (PLP). The current manufacturer specification lists capacities from 480GB to 3.84TB, but compatibility depends on your server’s bay, controller, firmware and workload.
What the ETD210T is
Transcend announced the ETD210T on January 2, 2025, positioning it for cloud and data-center applications, virtualized servers and large-scale data processing. The current product page also identifies web servers and media streaming as target uses. It is a SATA enterprise drive rather than an NVMe replacement: the host must provide a compatible 2.5-inch bay and SATA connection.
The current ETD210T product page lists 112-layer eTLC NAND, embedded DRAM and PLP. Enterprise features include dynamic thermal throttling, a thermal sensor, AES encryption, TCG Opal, garbage collection, wear leveling, over-provisioning, SMART monitoring, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), Secure Erase and 4K LDPC error correction.

Performance: use the dated figures correctly
Transcend’s current product page reports up to 570MB/s sequential read and 540MB/s sequential write, measured with CrystalDiskMark, plus up to 100,000 read and 83,000 write IOPS for 4K random access. It lists 99% QoS values of 45 microseconds read and 42 microseconds write, and 4K queue-depth-one latency of 30 microseconds read and 26 microseconds write. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent benchmark results. Transcend says actual speed varies with host hardware, software, usage and capacity. See the live specification page for the current figures.
The launch announcement dated January 2, 2025 gave different numbers: up to 530/510MB/s sequential read/write and latency as low as 0.5 milliseconds at 99.9% QoS. Those are historical launch claims, not an interchangeable second set of current specifications. The announcement is archived at Transcend’s January 2, 2025 release.

What the endurance rating means
A 1-DWPD rating for five years means the rated workload can write an amount of data equivalent to the drive’s full usable capacity once per day during that period, subject to Transcend’s terms. The quoted maximum of 7,008TBW is a manufacturer endurance figure; it is not a promise that every workload or platform will achieve that total. A write-heavy database, cache or logging tier should be checked against its measured daily writes rather than being classified as “enterprise” by name alone.
Is the ETD210T compatible with your server?
Check the deployment before purchasing. Transcend’s product sheet warns that compatibility cannot be guaranteed across all platforms and scenarios and recommends contacting the company for special applications or environments. The ETD210T product sheet contains that qualification.

- Confirm the bay and connector. The chassis must accept a 2.5-inch, 7mm drive and provide a SATA data path and suitable power. A U.2, M.2 or PCIe-only backplane is not automatically compatible.
- Check the controller and firmware. Verify that the RAID or HBA supports SATA III SSDs, the drive’s capacity, SMART passthrough and any required encryption or secure-erase functions.
- Match the environment. The specified operating range is 0°C to 70°C. Review airflow, vibration, hot-swap carriers and the server’s actual inlet temperature rather than assuming the bay is within range.
- Validate the workload. Compare measured daily writes with the 1-DWPD-for-five-years rating. Read-intensive virtualization, web and streaming tiers fit the stated positioning better than continuously write-intensive workloads.
- Verify the order code and capacity. Select the required 480GB, 960GB, 1.92TB or 3.84TB model and confirm the code with the reseller or Transcend.
Transcend’s own qualification is important: passing the physical check does not establish 100% compatibility for every server, operating system, controller or application.
ETD210T versus ETD410T
The ETD410T is a separate enterprise model, not an adapter or drop-in replacement. Transcend’s Enterprise Product Overview (version V41) lists it with a U.2 form factor and PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. Choose the host interface and available bay first; performance and capacity comparisons only matter after the platform can accept the drive.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should consider it?
- Good fit: a server with 2.5-inch SATA bays that needs enterprise firmware features, PLP and predictable read-oriented storage within SATA’s bandwidth limit.
- Check carefully: virtualized hosts with mixed write loads, database tiers and any system whose daily writes approach the endurance rating.
- Look elsewhere: platforms designed only for U.2 or NVMe, or applications that require PCIe Gen4 throughput and the substantially higher performance listed for the ETD410T.
There is no independent benchmark or market-adoption data established here. Treat the figures as Transcend’s published specifications, validate them on your controller and workload, and obtain platform-specific confirmation for unusual deployments.
Best Value

- Comprehensive Software Support: Compatible with Transcend's SSD Scope software, providing tools to monitor drive health, optimize performance, and keep the SSD running efficiently.
The Bottom Line
The ETD210T is a SATA-based, 2.5-inch enterprise SSD aimed at read-intensive infrastructure. Its eTLC NAND, DRAM, PLP and five-year 1-DWPD rating can suit compatible servers, but the 2.5-inch SATA interface, 0°C–70°C environment and platform-specific compatibility checks should determine procurement—not the headline throughput alone.
