TikTok and Eventbrite announced a partnership on July 16, 2024, that lets Eventbrite event listings be attached to TikTok videos. Viewers can open event details and buy tickets through an Eventbrite page in TikTok’s in-app browser. Eventbrite remains the event-listing and ticketing service; TikTok supplies discovery and distribution.

Because product screens, eligibility and country coverage can change, treat the mechanics below as the launch-announcement description and confirm the current TikTok and Eventbrite documentation before publishing an event.

What the TikTok–Eventbrite integration does

An organizer first creates and publishes an event on Eventbrite. An Eventbrite creator or TikTok user can then attach one or more Eventbrite event links to TikTok content. TikTok can surface an event that is relevant to a viewer’s location, according to the companies’ July 2024 announcements.

When a viewer taps the event link, TikTok opens the Eventbrite event information and ticket-purchase flow in an in-app browser. The announcements did not describe TikTok as the event host or as providing a fully native TikTok checkout.

What each service handles

  • Eventbrite: event listing, event information and ticket transactions.
  • TikTok: video distribution, audience discovery and the link into Eventbrite.
  • Viewer: chooses an event, reviews its details and completes the purchase on the Eventbrite flow.

How organizers share an Eventbrite event on TikTok

Eventbrite’s Help Center uses the heading “Share your events on TikTok.” Its documented flow starts with Eventbrite’s Share on Social feature, although the live help page should be checked for current labels and permissions before you follow these steps.

  1. Publish an eligible event on Eventbrite and confirm that its public listing, date, venue and ticket settings are complete.
  2. In Eventbrite, open Share on Social and choose TikTok.
  3. Connect an active TikTok account when prompted.
  4. Review and grant the permissions requested by Eventbrite. The Help Center result says these permissions allow Eventbrite to view the social profile and post.
  5. Select or attach the event link to the TikTok video, then preview the post and verify that the event, location and ticket destination are correct.
  6. After publishing, open the video as a viewer where possible and test the link through to the Eventbrite event page.

Eventbrite’s Help Center result also says the integration will not share personal event-organizer or attendee data with TikTok. Consent wording and permission scopes may change, so read the current authorization screen rather than relying on an older description.

Launch eligibility and availability

At launch, TikTok and Eventbrite said the feature was available in countries where both services were available. They described the following event conditions:

Condition Launch-announcement description
Event format In-person event
Event visibility Publicly listed on Eventbrite
Ticket type Paid tickets
Event date Within 90 days of sharing
Music events Within 180 days of sharing
Geography Markets where TikTok and Eventbrite services were available

These were conditions stated in the July 16, 2024 announcements, not a guarantee of the current rules. Check availability for the organizer’s country, the event category and the intended event date before planning a campaign.

What viewers experience

Discovery in TikTok

The companies positioned the integration around communities such as #BookTok, #NewMusic and #FoodTok. A creator can make a video that explains or promotes an event, while the attached Eventbrite link gives interested viewers a direct path to the listing. TikTok and Eventbrite also said multiple linked events could be surfaced according to a viewer’s location.

Event details and checkout

The announcement describes ticket purchases taking place through an in-app browser. The viewer therefore leaves the video’s immediate viewing context for an Eventbrite web experience, even though the browser opens inside TikTok. Do not promise that every payment step is native to TikTok.

Organic event links versus TikTok Search Ads

The partnership’s event-link feature and Eventbrite’s published advertising results are separate things. Organic videos use TikTok content and an attached event link; Search Ads are paid placements aimed at search intent.

Aspect Event-link partnership TikTok Search Ads case study
Distribution Organic TikTok video and linked Eventbrite listing Paid Search Ads
Documented use Event discovery and ticket purchase through Eventbrite Campaign targeting vacation planners and city-specific searches, including travel, food and drink, and attractions
Published outcome No independent integration-specific lift was identified 66% higher click-through rate and 33% lower cost per acquisition on complete-payment transactions in the reported pilot
Can the result be applied to organic links? No. The case-study figures concern the paid Search Ads pilot, not the organic ticket-link integration.

Eventbrite’s case study quotes Laura Benayas, Head of Growth Marketing, saying that TikTok Search Ads aligned user intent with the company’s offerings. That statement is about the paid campaign, not the partnership feature itself.

What the published numbers do—and do not—show

  • Eventbrite said it distributed more than 300 million tickets for more than 5 million events in 2023. This is a company-wide historical figure, not a TikTok-attributed total.
  • The 66% click-through-rate increase and 33% cost-per-acquisition decrease came from the Search Ads pilot described above. They are not attendance, organic reach or partnership-conversion measurements.
  • TikTok’s announcement quoted Isaac Bess describing a “global community of over a billion people.” That is a company statement without a precise measurement date or methodology in the announcement, so it should not be treated as an independently verified current audience count.
  • No independent study identified incremental reach, ticket conversion, attendance or creator revenue caused by the Eventbrite link integration.

Monetization and commercial caveats

On Eventbrite’s August 8, 2024 Q2 earnings call, co-founder and CEO Julia Hartz said the company was not directly monetizing the integration at that time and was using it to drive ticket sales while developing its strategy. That statement describes the situation in August 2024; it does not establish current fees, revenue sharing or creator compensation.

The partnership announcements likewise do not establish an affiliate commission, tracking arrangement or additional TikTok checkout fee. Organizers should review the current Eventbrite and TikTok commercial terms before assuming that a sale through a shared link earns a payment to a creator or changes the organizer’s ticketing costs.

Practical checklist before publishing a promotion

  • Confirm the event is public, in person and paid, and check the current date-window rules.
  • Verify that TikTok and Eventbrite support the feature in the organizer’s market.
  • Use an active TikTok account and inspect every requested permission.
  • Check the event title, venue, time zone, ticket inventory and refund information on Eventbrite.
  • Test the link on a mobile device, including the in-app-browser handoff.
  • Label paid Search Ads separately from organic event-link posts when reporting performance.
  • Measure clicks and completed purchases with the analytics available in the current products; do not infer attendance from a link click.

Bottom line for organizers

The TikTok–Eventbrite partnership is a distribution bridge: TikTok helps people discover a local event, and Eventbrite supplies the listing and ticket transaction. It can shorten the path from a relevant video to event information, but the 2024 eligibility rules and interface should be rechecked, and the Search Ads performance figures should not be used as proof that organic event links increase attendance or sales.
