Yes. NordPass now includes a built-in authenticator for personal users on Premium and Family plans. It generates time-based one-time password (TOTP) codes in your vault, and supported NordPass apps and browser extensions can sync and autofill them. You must verify with biometrics before a stored code is revealed.
What NordPass Authenticator does
NordPass announced personal-account availability on January 9, 2026. This is a software feature inside the password manager, not a new physical authenticator device. After you add a website’s TOTP setup key to a saved password item, NordPass generates the changing six-digit code used during sign-in. The code can be copied from the vault or autofilled by the browser extension. NordPass’s launch announcement describes the feature and its personal-plan availability.
Plans and supported devices
The launch materials identify Premium and Family as the eligible personal plans. NordPass lists these supported clients in its Authenticator support documentation:
- NordPass apps for Android and iOS.
- NordPass browser extensions on Chromium-based browsers for macOS and Windows.
- NordPass browser extension for Firefox on Windows.
NordPass says the feature can be used simultaneously on multiple supported mobile devices and browser extensions. The launch materials do not establish availability on other platforms or browsers, so check NordPass’s current compatibility documentation if your setup is not listed.

How to add a TOTP code to NordPass
You need the TOTP setup key supplied by the website or service whose account you are securing. It is usually offered when you enable an authenticator-app option in that service’s two-factor authentication settings.
- Enable biometrics and complete verification. In NordPass, turn on biometric authentication and confirm the emailed verification code when prompted. Initial setup requires these steps.
- Open the saved password item. Find the NordPass entry for the account you are protecting and choose to edit it.
- Add the two-factor-code field. Select the field for a two-factor authentication code and enter the TOTP setup key provided by the website.
- Save the item. NordPass will generate a temporary six-digit code. During login, verify with biometrics to reveal the code or use the supported browser extension’s autofill.
NordPass’s setup instructions cover the supported workflow. Keep the setup key private: it can be used to generate the same codes as the authenticator.

Is it safer to keep your password and TOTP code together?
It is more convenient, but it reduces separation between the password and the second factor. With NordPass, the password and TOTP secret are managed in the same vault workflow; biometric verification is required before the saved code is shown. NordPass says its vault uses XChaCha20 encryption and a zero-knowledge architecture, and describes the workflow as combining something you know (the master password), something you have (the device), and something you are (biometric authentication). Putting both credentials in one manager means a person who gains access to that vault may be able to obtain both factors. A separate authenticator app or a hardware security key keeps the second factor outside the password vault, adding separation at the cost of switching tools or carrying another device. NordPass’s MFA guidance discusses authenticator apps and security keys as alternatives.

NordPass product head Karolis Arbačiauskas framed the personal feature as a way to avoid switching among apps, with users able to copy a code from the vault or autofill it on a website. That convenience is the central reason to choose the integrated option; users who prioritize keeping factors separate may prefer an independent authenticator or security key.
