Story campaigns
Start from the campaign menu to play a scenario on your own or with a partner where co-op is available. The campaigns connect through shared events and crossover points; they are not simply interchangeable versions of one story. The manual covers campaign startup, saving and loading, route guidance, player and partner actions, and the game-screen indicators, so consult the manual for the specific platform edition’s controls and prompts.

Co-op and split-screen
The manual distinguishes online co-op from split-screen multiplayer and also covers crossover multiplayer, where players’ story sessions can intersect. These are separate ways to play, not a single universal co-op setting. The number of players and online requirements vary by platform edition; the PS4 and Xbox storefront details are outlined below.
Mercenaries and Agent Hunt
Mercenaries is a separate mode from the story campaigns. Agent Hunt is another distinct mode covered by the manual. Check the in-game mode menu and the manual for access and play details tied to your version; do not assume that a feature described for one edition has identical availability on every platform.

What does the PS4 edition include?
The current US PlayStation listing identifies a PS4 edition released on March 29, 2016, published by Capcom U.S.A., Inc. The listing says it includes all DLC and two costumes per main character. It lists one to two players locally and up to six online players, with PS Plus required for online play; online play is optional. It also says the PS4 game is playable on PS5, subject to system software and possible feature limitations.
