Important: Android 10 Beta 6 is obsolete historical software, not a recommended update in 2026. It was an incremental One UI 2.0 OTA for specific U.S. Snapdragon Galaxy S10+ models: the carrier-family SM-G975U and unlocked SM-G975U1. Each required its own package and the matching ZSKF source build. Do not install it unless you have a specific archival or restoration reason and can verify the package and device compatibility.
Quick compatibility check
| Phone | Beta 6 target build | Required source build | Package type |
|---|---|---|---|
| U.S. carrier-family Snapdragon Galaxy S10+ (SM-G975U) | G975USQU2ZSKJ | G975USQU2ZSKF | Incremental OTA |
| U.S. unlocked Snapdragon Galaxy S10+ (SM-G975U1) | G975U1UEU2ZSKJ | G975U1UEU2ZSKF | Incremental OTA |
These packages are not interchangeable, and neither is a full firmware image. They are not for Exynos models such as SM-G975F, SM-G975FD, or SM-G975N, nor for an arbitrary Android 9 or Android 10 build. Contemporaneous build information is reported by Android Sage’s carrier-model coverage and its unlocked-model coverage.
Identify your exact S10+ model and build
- Open Settings → About phone → Model number. Confirm the full model is SM-G975U or SM-G975U1.
- Open Settings → About phone → Software information and record the complete build number. For Beta 6, the relevant source build ends in ZSKF; the target ends in ZSKJ.
- Check the service-provider software information as well. SM-G975U identifies the carrier-family model, but carrier software configuration and update eligibility can still vary. The model label alone does not guarantee that every carrier configuration accepts the same package.
Do not choose a file just because a listing says “U.S. Snapdragon S10+.” The complete firmware identifier matters: G975USQU2ZSKJ belongs to the SM-G975U family, while G975U1UEU2ZSKJ belongs to SM-G975U1.
What Beta 6 was—and what its build numbers mean
Beta 6 was a One UI 2.0 preview based on Android 10. Its relevant update paths were G975USQU2ZSKF → G975USQU2ZSKJ for SM-G975U and G975U1UEU2ZSKF → G975U1UEU2ZSKJ for SM-G975U1. An OTA of this kind updates a specific installed build; it is not a standalone Android installation that can be applied over any firmware. A mismatch in model or starting build is a reason to stop, not to try another similarly named ZIP.

Historical coverage associated this Beta 6 release with fixes to volume-bar behavior, Bluetooth tethering restarts, Galaxy Buds-related noise, Device Care widget sizing or transparency, Gallery quick-view/photo rotation, and a “Call/text on other devices” quick-panel message. These are period-reported changes, not a verified Samsung changelog for every model. See the contemporaneous Beta 6 issue coverage. Gesture navigation, dark mode, location permissions, and Digital Wellbeing belong to the broader Android 10 and One UI 2.0 feature set, not necessarily to Beta 6 specifically.
Samsung availability and historical downloads
During the beta program, Samsung Members enrollment and the resulting over-the-air update were described as the preferred route. That program is over; do not expect Samsung Members to offer Beta 6 today. The period download articles point to third-party-hosted mirrors, not a currently supported Samsung distribution channel. Their existence does not establish that a file is still intact, authentic, or safe.
No independently verified current mirror, file hash, ZIP size, or provenance is established here, so this guide does not present a download link as trustworthy. Do not install a package from an unverified mirror. In particular, a page calling a file an “official OTA” does not make its third-party host an official Samsung source. The original carrier page also has a misleading title/body history and a version-direction error; use the explicit ZSKF-to-ZSKJ sequence above rather than its contradictory wording.

Checks to make before any archival installation
- Model and market: Confirm SM-G975U or SM-G975U1 and the U.S. Snapdragon variant. Never use this guide for an Exynos model.
- Starting build: Confirm the complete installed build matches the source build specified for that package.
- Package integrity: Require credible provenance and a verifiable hash from a trustworthy source. If neither is available, do not flash it.
- Carrier configuration: Do not assume that an SM-G975U package works across every carrier configuration. A historical claim of broad carrier support is not a compatibility guarantee.
- Data and recovery: Make and verify a backup first. Manual OTA installation may erase data; no outcome is guaranteed. Ensure you have a workable recovery option before proceeding.
- Power and connection: Charge the phone adequately, keep the update file intact, and use a stable USB connection if sideloading.
- Bootloader and unlocking: Do not assume OEM unlocking is available or harmless on a U.S. model. An incremental stock OTA is not a reason to alter bootloader settings.
Historical installation methods
The steps below describe the period manual-OTA approaches, not a currently supported update path. The cited instructions are more fully documented for earlier beta transitions than for a demonstrated Beta 6 installation. The exact package must still be the correct ZSKF-to-ZSKJ OTA for the phone.

- Obtain only the exact OTA for the phone’s model and source build. If its authenticity or integrity cannot be verified, stop.
- Rename the verified package to
update.zipif required by the recovery instructions, then copy it intact to a microSD card. - Power off the Galaxy S10+.
- Enter recovery with
Power + Volume Up + Bixby. - Choose Apply update from SD card, select
update.zip, and follow the recovery prompts. - Do not disconnect power or interrupt installation. Allow the device time to finish and restart.
The recovery key sequence and SD-card workflow are described in the historical unlocked S10+ instructions. Menu availability may differ by recovery state and package.
ADB sideload
Use sideload only if the recovery environment offers Apply update from ADB and the computer is already configured with working ADB tools and the required drivers or authorization. The command adb reboot recovery only requests a reboot into recovery; it does not install the update.

- Operating System: Unlocked for All Carriers
- Connect the phone to the computer and enter recovery. Select Apply update from ADB.
- Confirm the computer detects the device in the recovery sideload state.
- From the computer, run
adb sideload update.zip, using the verified, correctly named OTA file. - Wait for transfer and installation to finish before disconnecting or restarting.
If ADB does not detect the phone, stop and resolve the computer, cable, driver, or recovery-mode issue. Do not substitute an unrelated ZIP or use Odin with an incremental OTA package.

“Verification failed” or “Can’t install this package”
Common explanations include a wrong model package, a source-build mismatch, a damaged archive, or a modified file. Recheck the full model and build identifiers. Do not repeatedly retry, rename another firmware file, or bypass verification.
No SD-card option in recovery
Do not assume the menu is available on every recovery state. ADB sideload is an alternative only when recovery explicitly offers the ADB update mode and the computer is correctly set up.

ADB does not detect the device
Confirm the phone is in Apply update from ADB mode and check the USB connection, computer tools, drivers, and authorization. The reboot command alone is insufficient.
Bootloop after an attempted update
If the phone can enter recovery, cache clearing may be an option, but menu wording and effects depend on the installed recovery; do not select a data-wiping option casually. If the device remains unusable, use an appropriate official full-firmware recovery route or qualified repair assistance. A factory reset can erase user data and should be a last resort when other recovery options are exhausted. A documented rollback procedure for this historical beta package is not established here.
What to use instead in 2026
If the goal is a usable phone rather than archival testing, seek the latest compatible official firmware and update or recovery options for the exact model. Beta 6 is a 2019 preview, not a current Android version or security update. A supported custom-ROM route is a separate choice that requires model-specific compatibility and careful preparation; this Beta 6 OTA is not a substitute.
