Yes—LTT Store sells USB cables under its TrueSpec line. The US store lists USB-A to USB-C cables labeled 15W from $16.99 and USB-C to USB-C cables labeled up to 240W from $26.99. This is an active product line, not necessarily a new launch: LTT discussed developing cables in 2022, but the exact launch date of the finished TrueSpec products is not established by the sources available here. Most importantly, the speed depends on the length you select.
What LTT TrueSpec cables are available?
The US storefront lists two cable families. Prices below are starting prices shown on the product pages; the final price can vary by configuration, and a complete price for every length and speed variant is not established here.
| Product family | Connectors | Power label | Listed data-speed tiers | US starting price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TrueSpec A-to-C | USB-A to USB-C | 15W | 10Gbps or 480Mbps, depending on length | $16.99 |
| TrueSpec C-to-C | USB-C to USB-C | Up to 240W | 40Gbps, 20Gbps, or 480Mbps, depending on length | $26.99 |
The store pages showed both product families in stock when checked on August 18, 2026. Prices, stock, and configurations may change. See the A-to-C product page and the C-to-C product page for current options.
How do speed and length vary?
Choose by the exact variant, not just the family name. The store lists lower data rates for longer cables in both product lines.

| Family | Listed length | Listed data speed |
|---|---|---|
| A-to-C | 10 cm through 3 m | 10Gbps |
| A-to-C | 3.5 m through 5 m | 480Mbps |
| C-to-C | 10 cm through 1 m | 40Gbps |
| C-to-C | 1.3 m through 2.5 m | 20Gbps |
| C-to-C | 3 m through 5 m | 480Mbps |
USB-A to USB-C: legacy connections and moderate power
The A-to-C line is labeled 15W, making it a fit for USB-A ports on older PCs, chargers, consoles, vehicles, and hubs—not a replacement for a modern high-power laptop-charging cable. The shorter variants are listed at 10Gbps; the 3.5 m to 5 m options are listed at 480Mbps, a USB 2.0-class data rate.
USB-C to USB-C: match the speed to the job
The C-to-C family is labeled for up to 240W, but its listed data rate ranges from 40Gbps on short cables to 480Mbps on the longest ones. A 5 m cable is not a 40Gbps cable simply because the family name says 240W. At 480Mbps, a cable may still suit charging or low-bandwidth peripherals, but it is a poor choice for high-speed storage or other bandwidth-heavy setups.
Power is also a system-level negotiation: the cable cannot make a device draw 240W if the charger, device, or USB Power Delivery negotiation does not support it. Actual charging can be limited by any of those components, as well as by hubs or adapters.

What does LTT say makes the cables different?
LTT’s product pages emphasize explicit speed and power labeling, selectable lengths, and construction features including individually shielded copper conductors, multi-layer EMI shielding, a UV- and bend-resistant silicone outer jacket, a flexible TPE connector housing, and strain relief designed to flex with the cable. These are LTT’s product claims, not independent test findings.
The practical appeal is clarity: buyers can select a stated length and speed tier rather than relying on a generic cable description. That does not remove the need to check whether the computer, charger, device, dock, or monitor supports the same capability.
Why did LTT spend years developing cables?
In a January 2022 newsletter, LTT said it was testing cable samples from multiple factories. The company reported that every sample in an initial batch failed its signal-integrity testing, and described cutting open failing and passing cables to compare construction details such as shield termination and drain wires. LTT said some samples could not reliably achieve even 5Gbps.

That account documents LTT’s reported development work at the time; it is not an independent test of every current TrueSpec production cable. The current product page says the cables took over five years to develop, which is also a first-party claim rather than an independently audited timeline. The available sources do not establish that every TrueSpec cable has passed every USB certification, interoperability, thermal, or signal-integrity test.

What the specifications do—and do not—guarantee
USB-C is a connector, not a promise of speed or video
The shape of a USB-C plug does not by itself specify the data protocol, charging rate, or video capability. A cable’s listed speed is only one part of the chain: the host port, connected device, and any hub or dock must support the relevant mode too.
40Gbps does not mean Thunderbolt-certified
The inspected product pages list USB-C cables and USB data-speed tiers, but do not establish Thunderbolt certification. A 40Gbps USB-C cable may work with some Thunderbolt hardware, but that does not make it a certified Thunderbolt cable or guarantee every Thunderbolt feature. If a setup requires Thunderbolt, USB4 certification, DisplayPort support, or a particular USB-IF mark, verify that requirement separately before buying.

Video support is not established for every variant
Do not assume every C-to-C cable will carry a monitor signal. The source port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode or USB4, the monitor and cable must support the needed mode, and any dock or adapter must not be the bottleneck. The inspected LTT pages do not expressly promise video support for every variant.
Who should consider a TrueSpec cable?
- Consider C-to-C if you need a clearly labeled high-speed cable, a particular length for a dock or storage setup, or a cable rated for higher-power USB-C charging—provided the other devices support the required capability.
- Consider A-to-C for a legacy USB-A connection where the available length and listed speed fit the device and task.
- Choose a cheaper reputable cable instead if you only need basic phone charging or a low-speed peripheral and do not need a particular length or speed tier.
- Look elsewhere or verify certification first if your setup specifically requires certified Thunderbolt, USB4, or video support that the product page does not establish.
The starting prices are high compared with basic USB cables. The premium is most defensible if explicit specifications, a precise length, or LTT’s warranty and support matter to you—not simply because the cable carries the LTT name. The listed configuration also reflects a practical length-performance trade-off: longer runs have lower data-rate tiers.

Warranty terms to understand
The product page describes a limited warranty for breakage caused by defects in materials or workmanship during the product’s “usual and customary life.” That phrase does not set a fixed number of years, so it should not be read as a simple lifetime guarantee.

Troubleshooting: when a cable does not perform as expected
Charging is slower than expected
- Check whether the charger supplies the required power and the device can accept it.
- Confirm that the cable’s connector type and power capability match the setup; the A-to-C family is labeled 15W.
- Consider whether USB Power Delivery negotiation is occurring and whether a hub, dock, or adapter is imposing a limit.
An external SSD is slow
- Check the cable’s selected speed tier—480Mbps, 10Gbps, 20Gbps, or 40Gbps.
- Confirm that the host port and SSD enclosure support the same rate.
- Check for a slower hub connection or drive throttling.
A monitor does not work over USB-C
Confirm that the computer port supports the required video mode, then check the monitor input, cable variant, dock, and adapter. USB-C connector compatibility alone is not enough.
Charging works but data does not
That can be expected if the selected cable is a 480Mbps variant, the host connection is limited, or the device supports only a narrower set of modes. A USB-C plug does not guarantee high-speed data.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesYou need to make a warranty claim
Keep the order confirmation or other proof of purchase, the cable’s exact length and speed tier, and photos or video showing the fault. The policy excludes several forms of misuse and ordinary cosmetic wear.
